I registered to vote 22 years ago and have yet to get a single summons. I would love to go to jury duty, although I doubt a civil case would suit me since I work in insurance. "You'll get nothing and like it!".

Lunch break now. I'll find out after that if I'm picked. Given the case's nature, I hope I'm not picked.

Aaaaaand I got selected to serve. The judge expects the case to last all of this week and into the middle of next. I already missed half of this month from work due to my Ireland trip and a couple off days for other things. I can't talk about the case right now, but I can assure you it's going to be awful to sit through. Seriously. Can't imagine the evidence photos we will be seeing. I'm sick to my stomach already.

Does the case involve a speeding ticket, a suicide attempt, and a banker?

Honestly, it does not sound like very much fun, Greg. Good luck.

I've always wondered what type of person can't find a way out of jury duty... now I have my answer.

Wow. How does that happen? How does someone give birth and walk out of a bathroom like she was just taking a dump or something? I've seen women after giving birth. It's sweaty and bloody and a screamy.

That's pretty much what she did. She was with her mom and went right back to shopping.

Three on each side weren't budging. In short, the state couldn't prove the baby was ever alive. As bad as what she did, it's not first degree murder if the baby was a still born.

Just read the prosecutors are going to retry her, as early as December. I can't see them being able to convict her, unless they pull out some magical evidence.
