I enjoy Crime in Sports from the same duo, but enjoy STM quite a bit more.

I will check this out. I'm almost through Crime Junkie so I was looking for something else.

If you listen to Crime Junkie you might not need to listen to any other true crime podcast:

Quote:
Popular ‘Crime Junkie’ Podcast Removes Episodes After Plagiarism Accusation
The show announced that it removed “several” episodes because of sourcing concerns after a journalist and others accused the hosts of using their work without credit.

Second Small Town Murder and Crime In Sports; pair of stand-up comedians from Arizona by way of New Jersey. Lotta Gen X relevant references in terms of sports history and pop culture. No original research or victim/offender interviews. Whereas most true crime podcasts mine the same vein of known-to-true-crime fans cases, STM intersperses recounting obscure small town murder cases with loads of piss-takes on the locals involved.

Been listening to Chillingworth, a true crime podcast ostensibly about the abduction and murder of a South Florida judge and his wife (bound and gagged, taken 3 miles out into the Atlantic, weighed down and thrown overboard while still alive) .

Presented by a couple of newspaper reporters who leverage a decade of research into both the case and the milieu of the time-n-place it occurred (West Palm Beach in the 1950's). But they take a 360 view on the case and history of small town South Florida law enforcement and politics in the 1950's and beyond. Probably closer to Crimetown than say Serial. Dense material with many players. Shorter episodes but not something you can readily listen to while half-focused on something else. Top shelf audio; maybe a bit over the top with the sound effects. But it was co-produced by a film production company.

Podcasts I am currently listening to:
Humor:
Never Not Funny - Jimmy Pardo and crew are, well, funny
Doug Loves Movies - I still listen but it starting to feel like Doug is getting tired of it - especially the audience
Comedy Bang! Bang! - I think it keeps getting better
How Did This Get Made? - funny look at bad movies

Music:
Bizarre Albums - a short podcast that looks into strange albums by known artist (this week looked at Dee Dee Ramone's rap album).
Disgraceland - looks into the dark/outlaw stories from popular music

My cousin just turned me on to these two shows. I love them.
