The Sopranos was overrated....but most overrated show ever?
Lost, Frasier, Walking Dead

no one holds Lost, Frazier or Walking Dead up to the same level as Sopranos. MANY people claim Sopranos was an all time great show. I contend that it pretty much sucked beyond the first couple seasons. Basically nothing would happen and then in the last episode of every season something big would happen. And don't get me started on the entertainment-sucking scenes with Tony and his shrink. Not to mention the stupid dreams.

It was a bad show, not just overrated but bad.

Easily the most overrated show of all time IMO, not even close.

You're being chintzy on the definition of signature series'. Pretty sure Walking Dead and Lost had better ratings than Sopranos. But even if I accept your definition, there's always House of Cards. A series that threw shit at the wall to see what stuck. None of it did. Not a single piece of shit.

Again....I agree Sopranos over-rated.
As you said...first 2-3 seasons....awesome. It went to complete shit in a hurry.

The Melfi scenes and family issues were what the show was actually about. You fucking people and your gangster shit.

Assuming Tony was killed in the diner (he was)

What happens to the NJ family?

Paulie and Pasquale Parisi are the only remaining capos, and that guy who ultimately shot Phil Leotardo as well as the fat bald guy who was Tony's driver. Sylvio is in a coma and they SAID that the doctors don't think he'd wake up, but who knows.

But yeah, they'd be turned into what Carmine called them all along: A glorified crew.

One I dont believe was mentioned....Little Paulie. He gets his ass kicked or talked down to in like 80% of his scenes.

Which guy? I don't care for Zoller Seitz but Alan Sepinwall is great.

I'm also considering buying the book. I very much enjoyed Sepinwall's The Revolution Was Televised.

Sepinwall was the one on with Brian Kenny (kenny tweeted out the video if you're interested) and I believe that his who Mac and Parkins have on.

Did you read "All the Pieces Matter" about The Wire?

I haven't. I've come close to getting it a few times and probably will at some point.

I didn't watch it during its original airing but binged a few years ago. I'm in the "best show ever" camp. Enjoy!

Sopranos
The Wire
Breaking Bad
My Two Dads
Mad Men

Ive not seen Mad Men.

I have The Wire as #1 with Sopranos and BB fighting it out for #2

I think Rectify still has to be at #2 on my list. Sopranos probably would be 3.

I'd put BB at #2 and have Mad Men next on my list to watch. The Wire is further down in my queue.

I think I would rank Ozark a tad above Better Call Saul.

I dont where to rank BCS. I think we'll have to see how it ends.

Ozark is decent, but it just feels like DIET Breaking Bad to me.

Agreed...hard to judge the writing of the series by itself vs together with BB. I think it gets an unfair (though thoroughly enjoyable) boost due to BB.

 Yes, but he's great.

It's kind of like The Wire in that it takes a little effort to get into it, but once you're in, it's more than worth it.

I can't imagine you not absolutely loving Roger Sterling's character.

And yeah, he's a pretty big asshole

I disagree but I know most people take your view on the show.

I felt vindicated when W_Z loved BCS without ever watching BB.
