I dont really consider the fb chat a competitor of this space, they are completely separate forms of communication. One thing that should be pointed out with the chat that bears correcting from this thread is there is no moderation of it, never has been.

There's definitely moderation on Facebook. At some point it extended even to chat and private messages. I'm not sure whether such is still the case.

But your statement does raise what I think is a real issue. People are just naturally more willing to act like assholes using a moniker like "Baby McCown" than they are under their actual names.

The logical answer to why we have less left wing posters is obviously because the thin skinned "snowflakes" left for a more "safe place" for them to voice their opinions without opposition.
