Another suggestion FF....get a couple medicine balls to use for passing drills. They will help the kids to throw crisper passes, rather than lazy ones that get picked off.

This is a good suggestion. We used this when I was a kid and it does help with having more crisp passes.

As for the 4th quarter, is that a conditioning issue? What did he shoot before the 4th quarter? Most basketball coaches will do FT practice at the end of practice so they can simulate how tired you are at the end of the game.

Wow... like night and day from last week. Team won 31-20. Much, much better ball movement and dribbling/handling the ball. Had a few defensive lapses where the other team got some easy layups, but for the most part it was a blowout. We were up 22-7 at half time. Im feeling much better after this game than I was last week.

Nice job. Did the kids dump gatorade on you for your first win of the season?

Tough game this morning. We lost 21-19, but we only had 6 of 10 kids show up, and they were clearly gassed by the end of the game. Funny moment came with about 20 seconds left. We had just scored to bring it to 20-19 and I told one of our kids, Marshall, to go intentionally foul so they didnt dribble out the clock. I never coached them on how to intentionally foul and assumed Marshall knew how to. Nope. They inbounded the ball and Marshall runs up to their guy and pushes the shit out him. The kid went flying like 5 feet out of bounds. Marshall gets hit with a flagrant and tells the ref I told him to do that shit. We got it all sorted out and luckily the kid and his parents weren't upset about it or anything. 2-2 on the season now.

 yeah the whole fouling at the end of a game thing is hard for kids that age to grasp.

We lost this last week 17-14. But I was proud of our girls, we were down 17-9 with about three mins left and we went to a full court press. We had not really practiced it much as I did not think we were really quick enough to pull it off. But they played their tails off and got some steals and almost caught up. We had the ball with 5 secs left and couldn't get a 3 pointer off to try and tie it. A crazy shot earlier in the game proved to be the difference. A girl in the first half caught the ball between the baseline and wing just outside of the 3 point line and she just threw the ball at the basket and it banked in. Crazy game.
