Incredibly sickening pitiful human being.

And I better not hear any crap about him having issues and deserving sympathy either.

People like this belong dead and he did the world a favor.

Burn in Hell.

I hope you know those are separate things.

And even if they're not, feelings like that are the reason people who need mental health treatment don't get it.

Plus he's already dead, so I really don't understand cpguy's point beyond his first two sentences. He didn't do the world a favor. He killed the kids first, idiot. Doing the world a favor would be offing yourself in lieu of taking someone else's life.

He did the world a favor in killing himself. Was that not implicit?

My point is that the damage was already done by then, so he did no one a favor. He simply killed himself.

Sorry cpguy. I'm just really upset over this whole thing. Didn't mean to react that way. Sorry I called you an idiot. I'm going to log off for awhile.

It seems like there has been an increase in the last few years of psychos killing people. What is wrong with people? Maybe the warnings about growing up in a society desensitized to violence is hitting home and being manifested by these maniacs. And with the advent of these video games with outright sniper attacks and worse, I can't see how the trend is going to start to reverse itself anytime soon.

Scary.

It's understandable. Emotions are riding high right now and we don't always think before we submit, especially on a topic that hits hard with many people.

No biggie OKC. As a father of two elementary children, let's hope that some good somehow emerges from this tragedy.

He lived with his mom in Newtown. Didn't know that until Dateline just reported it. That pretty much confirms my idea that he convinced him mom to buy the guns under her name. Probably couldn't do it under his name for some reason. Proably told her it was for their protection. She was divorced. It was just him and her.

But you're right. The shitty reporting this afternoon was horrible. Dateline showed clips of different media outlets getting it wrong all day. A lot of it was CNN just saying wrong thing after wrong thing. They had the mom shot in the school. They had the wrong name of the killer. Gave his brother's name. They said there were 2 shooters. Some network said he shot his dad in New Jersey. He didn't.

Oh, and, Mom of the Year right there, huh? Thanks a bunch for what you wrought on this world, bitch. She should rot in hell longer than the fuckwad gunman. Mom of the Century.

The only way to stop (or reduce) these things is to hold people accountable who knew the person. Family, friends, co-workers, whatever. You know someone with "issues" like this, and especially if they have guns, you report them, or you get charged with their crime. Everybody, all of us, has to play a part in stopping this. Every one of these fuckhats fits a profile. If you know someone with that profile, step up, and stop the next one of these.

She didn't just know someone with issues? She lived with him. She didn't know someone with guns. She bought them under her name at his request most likely. She was either in denial to her son's potential evils, or he just snapped and there were no signs, or she had issues herself.

Ya know, it's not out of the question that the mom committed suicide, he discovered her and he snapped. Maybe taking it out on her work place cuz he thought her work had somthing to do with her suicide. Or maybe she got fired. I don't know. Her death hasn't been ruled a homicide. We just know she was shot.

There is way more to this story. We'll learn it in the coming days.

No. Just possibilites. Shit, the media got it wrong all day. Like I said, they say he killed his mom, but I never heard police rule it a homicide. They just said they are investigating. Maybe the media jumped the gun again. Once again, she bought the guns!!!! With that info, suicide can't be ruled out and he might have snapped after he discovered her.

I think it's more respect than what the media is doing. They said he killed her when that hasn't been ruled a fact by police. They didn't wait for the facts to come as to the cause of her death.

Cuz this thing sounds so unbelievable. Him going to the school with his mom dead in the house sounds like avenge killings to me. So if they can speculate that she was murdered by him, I can speculate that she comitted suicide and snapped. At least that would make some sort of sense cuz the other way doesn't.

Him going to the school to avenge her death makes more sense (as much as you can make sense of it) than killing those poor kids just to kill them.

I hope the police don't rush to judgement. They should test her hands to see if she fired a gun.

Because I'm sad and angry and I want to make sense of it. My scenerio would give me more peace of mind than the other scenerio. Even though both are horrible. But it can't be shoot the kids just to shoot the kids. God, I hope that wasn't all it was. Has to be more than that. So I hope I'm right

All day the media reports were that she worked at the school as a full time teacher. That he acutally shot up her class.

Well, now when people aren't guessing, it's revealed that she was just a substitute. Her name wasn't on the staff list. One cop said he can't find a connection to her and the school.

http://www.masslive.com/news/index.ssf/2012/12/newtown_connecticut_shooting_i.html

Maybe she wanted to be full time and never got it? Maybe that upset her. Maybe that upset the son after finding his mother dead?

These people can be profiled, diagnosed, and stopped before they do these things. Bloomberg's platitudes and Obama's crying will not help. Laws against guns will be no more useful than the laws against murder. We have to help ourselves. Stop the next wave of people that are going to do this.

in some way its closely linked to poverty. it always is. bring the middle and lower classes up in lifestyle just a little bit and youll see these sort of massacres go away.

This may sound profoundly stupid, but has anyone else, as your mind randomly free-associates this act within a cultural context, come back to Revenge of the Sith more than once?

Ok. Cop said this yesterday? Still hope they tested her hands to see if she fired a gun. Hope they don't just assume. These are small town cops that don't see shit like this. I hope they turn every stone.

CNN reports that the shooter had an altercation with somebody at the school a couple of days ago. They also reported that shooter tried to buy a gun on Tuesday.

So, it's clear, he didn't snap that day. He was planning it at least days in advance.

The rifle was the gun that was used in the killings, contrary to what the media said yesterday. Medical examiner just said it at a press conference. Shooter had all 3 guns inside the school.
