How do they feel about Gatorade or are the oak parkers strictly a super v/honest kids/apple eve crowd?

In our town every kid got a slice of pizza and pop from the concession stand after the game

Parents barely showed up (mine did), much less bring something

What percentage of parents are complete idiots? None of this stuff really existed when I was kid, or at least I never saw it myself.

I don't have any kids, and my only exposure to parents with young children are my brother, and his collection of parent friends. They all seem to be normal to me. But there's always these stories out there of parents that are completely unreasonable. Is this just a small minority, or are they everywhere now?

Green tea (decaf) and popcorn (no salt or butter).

Idiot parents are everywhere, there is no safe haven.

How old are his kids and what are they involved in? As their world gets bigger so does the percentage of goofs. Also, the more money the more demanding we've found.

Today, the parents lives revolve around the kids' sport schedules. Weekends are consumed by traveling sports.

His kids are 8 and 4. They both play soccer and baseball/T-Ball. His friends have kids all around that age group as well.

Treat them like prisoners. Bring a case of water and a loaf of bread.

The whole allergy stuff has impacted this a lot.

I am the tennis coach this year for our high school. One of the tennis traditions has been to stop after every away match and eat together. One of our parents wanted to give me a list of all the places her child could not go. I told her I was not selecting what place to go based on one person. Her child would need to either bring their own food or find something to eat at whatever place was chosen.

Thankfully this kid quit the team shortly after this.

People are amazing.

Just bring the whole team to your house, and make them some pasta.

Right? Like a fucking high schooler would be upset or care? If my mom was that involved at that point in my life and did it that way I'd be beside myself with embarrassment.

She could have said coach I have allergies. Can you let me know ahead of time where we are going so I can make arrangements? This idea that everybody is suppose to cater to people is goofy, it is nice to be thought of but should never be expected.

Yeah I agree completely. But you would have to know this kid, I wouldn't be surprised if mommy doesn't still pick out clothes and wipe his ass for him.

My sister has an inlaw who is crazy like that. They had triplets (and are pregnant again, but that is a story for a different day) and one of the kids is allergic to peanuts. So for Christmas the triplets mother (who is my sister's sister in law) asked if nobody would bring any cookies or snacks made with peanuts or peanut butter. A legit request I thought.

For their first birthday, she sent an email invitation that asked everybody to refrain from eating "anything with peanuts, including peanut oil" for 48 hours before the party. I couldn't believe it when my sister told me the story. Who has the audacity to do that? Listen, I won't eat peanuts around somebody who is allergic to them (at least on purpose) but if you expect me to watch what I eat for X amount of hours before I see your kid, you've got another thing coming.

Not that my sister is a liar, but I just could not believe such a thing happened until she showed me the email on her phone a few weeks ago.
