"A man's" is the equivalent of saying ALL. If you were just making that statement for yourself then I wouldn't have even asked you a question. I completely understand how you feel about your own life and I respect that.

I think we have some clarity now?

It's not just about me. I believe it for MOST men. Now maybe you disagree, that's fine. I believe what I believe. Again its not 100%. God has different plans for different people, but doing whatever the hell you feel like and calling it "God's plan?" Good luck with that.

I made no further statements once he explained why he felt God had chosen a particular path for him. No issue at all with that.

With the exception of doing evil things isn't that really what we're all doing?

What you do for a living is what God chose for you or did he give you the free will to make that decision? Are you going to enjoy your weekend with your family because God told you to or because he gave you the free will to make that decision? When you donate time or resources to one charity but not another are you doing that because God told you too or because you were given the free will to make that decision? Did God tell you to put that shirt on or did you decide on your own? Did God tell you what place of worship to attend or did you make that decision?

My point was, I don't believe that the average person feels like God cares about what they do. They see Him as some far off maker of rules who's only real interest is to punish them when they break said rules. Or, they are unable or unwilling to believe in God and pay zero attention to Him, or the thought of Him.

I'm happy to hear that you actually believe in God now. Kim Davis found God over the past 4 years too. Good for you!

God gave me free will to do as I choose so long as I remain within the realm of GOODNESS. Now goodness is pretty easy to figure out logically and some non-religious folk can do it. For others, we have the Ten Commandments (pretty simple to understand) and Jesus' teachings (pretty tough at times) to guide us through life. I am not that smart of a guy. Certainly not smart enough to outsmart Jesus, so I just stick with what he said explicitly. When I die and it turns out to all be a sham, so be it. I did what I thought was the right thing to do.

Soda is ok if you are putting whiskey in it. Otherwise, there is no reason to drink it.

Cool of Hatchetman to admit non-religious folks can be decent people too.

I pretty much agree. Morality can be a little subjective though.

Did you go to a Catholic High School, Hatchetman? If so, where? St. Patrick's? Holy Cross? Notre Dame?
