(the answer is obviously 'no', but there's no shortage of self-righteous windbag asswipes who can't wait for the next opportunity to be indignant about something meaningless)

Too far? The Onion’s Instagram posts picture parodying military funerals

The Onion is beloved for its satire. It has, according to some, gone too far with some subjects.

The most recent example of this is the latest Instagram post on The Onion’s account. The picture shows a family receiving the American flag after it has been folded into a triangle; this is a common tradition at military funerals.

The post was first put on Clickhole, which is run by The Onion and is supposed to parody internet click-bait. The response to the post has been overwhelming negative.

That's an arguably sensible critique. Apparently it's too nuanced for some.

Agreed. It's shitty, horrible and ill advised, buy hey, this is America.

If you don't like it move to North Korea or enroll at your nearest SJW University.

If they were going to do something incredibly offensive, they should at least try to make it funny.

This was dumb, ill-advised, and not funny.

The Onion will apologize, it will be forgotten about by next week, and they will keep on keepin' on.

Yea, its not a matter of going too far. Its a matter of that not being funny or making sense at all in any way.

Clickhole fell victim to what they parody. They just had nothing and threw some bullshit up there as many of the Buzzfeed type sites do.

Anyway, Clickhole is not working out. Starwipe is way better

But then why give a shit? There's countless things posted on the internet every day that aren't funny and/or are pointless.

There are no sacred cows when it comes to satire, nor should their be. As Don said, anyone who thinks The Onion is horrible for this is just looking for reasons to be outraged. Anything past dolphin's ill advised comment is just silly nonsense.
