My wife is very into mid-century modern design. We have a lot of mid-mod furniture in the house. Sometimes I feel like Don Draper. Anyway, there is an exhibit at the Elmhurst Art Museum that features Playboy's influence on mid-mod design. The exhibit is full of swinging bachelor pad furniture. It's also in a Mies designed house which is kind of appropriate.

They also have this step-by-step seduction of a "friend" by a Playboy that was in the magazine. They turned this feature into a little movie. The friend comes to the bachelor pad. The Playboy helps her take off her fur coat. He makes a couple of Martinis, etc. The Playboy keeps putting spiked olives in his friend's drinks. Eventually he leads her to the bedroom, but she slaps his face and says, "I'm not that kind of girl!" The Playboy begins looking through his phone book for the number of a different woman that will come over to have sex with him. But now the spiked olives are kicking in. He shows her a copy of the Kinsey Report that says over 50% of women love premarital sex. Passionate embrace.

The Playboy would definitely be a rapist by today's standards. Even I was appalled by the Playboy's approach. He spiked her fucking drink! But he had Oscar Peterson on the hi-fi when he did it so I guess it was cool. I'm surprised there hasn't been any complaints/controversy over this exhibit.

Also, we walked over to the Elmhurst History Museum afterward and I noticed Lance Tawzer was the director. Isn't he half of that Morning Zoo that used to be on WKQX? I'm sure Curious Hair knows.

Some people will do anything to try and disguise dinner with Mr. and Mrs. Elmhurst Steve.

PATHETIC.

Sincerely,
Management

Try the Kilwins in Elmhurst on York. I know the owners.

Ha, Lance & Stoley, never thought I would ever hear either of those names again.
