The state that'll never stop giving:

Quote:
Meet Rambo, a gentle alligator whose Florida owner says he "eats at the dinner table, sleeps in my bed and follows me around like my dogs."

But now his owner, 55-year-old Mary Thorn, is fighting to keep him since she was recently denied a permit for the 125-pound gator.

Thorn told ABC News today that she's had a permit to keep the 15-year-old alligator ever since she rescued and brought him home more than seven years ago, when Rambo was just a little over a foot long.

However, the gator has since grown to be over 6 feet long, and a recently added condition for a permit says that gators over 6 feet need to be kept on a property with at least 2.5 acres of land, according to Florida Fish and Wildlife (FWC) spokesman Gary Morse.

"This is a very complex case, especially since she acquired the gator before some changes in permit conditions," Morse told ABC News today. He explained that Thorn had reapplied for a permit earlier this year and was originally denied -- but a number of issues have since been raised, so the case is now in the process of being reviewed.

Meanwhile, Thorn still has Rambo and is rallying community support for the gator she calls her "second son."

She explained that Rambo is a local celebrity and has been the star of small shows Thorn has put on for a few charities and organizations in her area. The "trained" gator has been photographed "riding an ATV" and along with her on her motorcycle, she said.

"He is not a normal gator," Thorn said. "He doesn't bite. When I first got him, I trained him to keep [his snout] tight shut whenever people are around, especially children."

Thorn added that Rambo "loves being pet, and you can pet his mouth and neck and he won't dare to snap at you."

The gator also often wear clothes -- but "not just to look cute," Thorn explained. She said she was told Rambo had originally been trapped in a small tank in a dark closet without sunlight before she rescued him, so he has to wear clothes when he goes outdoors because his skin "is very sensitive to sunlight."

The self-proclaimed "gator momma" said she doesn't believe in taking wild alligators from their natural habitat, but because Rambo had come to her under unique conditions, he needs to stay domesticated.

"He's too weak, and if he's put out in the wild or in a place with other gators, they'll kill him," she said. "He's also scared of outdoor noises, and he's just used to being home with me. This is where he's been his whole life and he's attached to me."

Thorn added that Rambo plays with her other dogs at home, goes to the fridge when he's hungry and even watches TV with her on the couch.

Alligators must be heavy. I would have pegged him at 50 pounds based on the pic.

Not really. It sounds like the law is pretty clear on this one. That, and alligators are not pets.

People who refer to animals as their children should be thrown through a window by 312player.

Quote:
Fort Myers, Fla. – Students and parents are in shock after a group of teenagers had sex in a high school bathroom in Fort Myers, Florida, and then posted a video of the act on social media.

A teenage girl had sex with as many as two dozen boys after school Tuesday afternoon at South Fort Myers High School, according to a Lee County Sheriff's Office incident report.

Deputies said 25 males were spotted via a hallway camera entering the restroom while the female was inside, the News-Press reported.

"A bunch of football players went into a room with a girl and had sex with her, and a bunch of the football players were suspended," student Alex Bailey told WBBH. "So we might not have a football team this year."

"The fact that that could've happened is just crazy in my mind," another student said.

Parent Megan Roldan said the incident proves some parents need to be more aware of what their children are getting up to when school ends.

"And apparently, obviously the parents need to be talking to their kids more,” Roldan told WINK. “And being aware of what their children are doing after school."

Even though the incident happened after hours, some students are wondering where the administration was when all of this was going on.

"I just don't see how that could've happened because there is so much security in there,” student Erin Bollinger said. “Like the teachers are really on top of all of that."

Students said the entire thing was filmed and then posted on social media.

"There's girls that saw the video once and it hurt, it is just so disturbing to them," student Casey Winn said.

Some parents question how this could have happened at the school.

"Well, they should be walking around the halls and things like that and know where the kids are,” Roldan said.

But others said they trust the school district to handle the situation

"I trust them to take care of it,” one woman said. “I really do think that that is their job and they will take care of it."

The sheriff's office said the girl's mother is not planning to press charges.

A school district official said the students involved have been disciplined.

This quote is old and idiotic. Do most parents talk to their kids? Yeah, I say they do. But there isn't a parent out there that knows what their kid is doing at all times, but no kid is going to to say "yeah, Mom, my day was cool: math, history, gang-banging 25 guys. You know, just a typical day.".

Before reading the actual thread I thought the thread title meant you were traveling in Florida and were going for some runs while there.

http://www.local10.com/news/weird-news/fla-woman-threatens-man-with-hatchet-for-refusing-sex

OCALA, Fla. - A Florida woman angry that a man refused to have sex with her has been arrested after threatening the unwilling participant with a hatchet.

The Smoking Gun reports that Leslie Mills, 26, took the hatchet to the door of a bathroom where the unnamed man was hiding.

Mills had reportedly gone out drinking Thursday and returned home wanting to engage in sexual activity.

When the man escaped to the home's living room, Mills allegedly climbed on top of him and continued to demand sex.

The victim then escaped to the bathroom where Mills began pounding on the door with a hatchet.

According to the police report, the man was able to grab the hatchet from Mills and run away from the home.

Police found Mills outside the home and arrested her on aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and domestic battery charges.
