Because there hasn't made a good movie since 300 or Inglorious Basterds, I don't watch these award shows.

But could there be any more fitting ending for all these Hollywood snobs practicing their annual self-idolatry than for the award for best picture to be blown? It just shows how meaningless and stupid the whole thing is.

Aside from the work of a few good directors, the film industry is dying a slow, albeit sure death.
