Making the internet rounds lately. Will President Obama leave a similar letter for President Trump?

Bill followed his advice and found great happiness in that office.

I wonder what Dan Bernstein's letter to his replacement will look like.

Having lived in DC between the Israeli and Kuwaiti embassy during the time the Gulf War broke out, I was always a fan of HW's [ James A Baker III's foreign policy? iirc] foreign policy. While there was no doubt what nation's embassy occupied an entire block in the leafy Van Ness hood of DC, complete with their own 24/7 police force [Israel]; we were surprised on that sleepy DC august morning in 1990 [when Mayor Marion Barry mistaking drug dealers for prostitutes on grainy FBI black and white hidden cam footage was the biggest news story in town] to wake up and find remote satellite broadcast trucks stationed on Tilden in front of a building that resembled a mid-sized midwestern city's IM Pei inspired public library--or a regional branch of a national bank.

NAS = the first person I've read who elevated Bush I to the lofty heights of near-greatness--perhaps a great President. While I agree wholeheartedly w/r/t HW's foreign policy--they didn't take any guff from Israel or the Saudis or anyone really. Not sure you can sell that on the domestic front. But then can a 1 term President really be tagged with whatever domestic/economic ups/downs occur on their watch.

WASHINGTON, June 11— The General Accounting Office, an investigative arm of Congress, said today that ''damage, theft, vandalism and pranks did occur in the White House complex'' in the presidential transition from Bill Clinton to George W. Was W's letter to Obama written in crayon?

Doesn't matter. Obama wouldn't be able to read it unless it was on a teleprompter.

I don't get the HW love. He was an old line Rockefeller republican that was somewhat centrist and came across as a occasionally well meaning but aloof national figure. Focus on the aloof part.

His role in Iran/Contra and some of his other scapegoating policies I cannot be ignored though. Nor can the '88 campaign he had Lee Atwater run for him which in part was so nasty that he(Atwater) begged forgiveness for on his death bed. And then begat that amoral bastard Karl Rove.

Just like a republican Trump supporter. I question a Bush presidency and you bring up Clinton out of nowhere.

Yea HW and Reagan were both pure evil, but at least people weren't so manaical about politics that everything became HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE all the time. I appreciate the civility even if I find the man behind it detestable.
