Vacationing in the Hardcore American South, even further south than Champaign. We went to a water park where we had a cabana with a very nice black family on our left and on our right was a family of 3, white, with the mother a classic 55-year old skinny blonde Southern former beauty queen wearing a white hat with a Confederate flag on it. So that was a thing that made me feel guilty and like a horrible human being for being white and in between that. |

Just taught my 13-year-old how to play blackjack. He won $600. That was fun. He's unconventional like his old man. The table will hate him. |

Good one. ![]() I'd like to do a quick weekend trip but this summer has been kinda crazy. We also have some bills to pay and unfortunate expenses. I'm glad you are out and about before school starts. |

I'm glad you are out and about before school starts. Do a staycation. We've done that before. Couple times. There's tons of stuff to do in Chicago that we never do. We have to make a point to do it because it is so familiar. Hotel costs are 40% of a vacation. |

We have a bajillion marriot points so hotel is never an issue. It's time and effort and sometimes the money. It's looking like I need a new car, we have to fix a few things around the house, and kid stuff is more expensive. It's our 15th anniversary this year and he'd like to do a weekend trip but I don't know if that is a good idea. I think I'm having a three quarters of the way life crisis too. |

I've been on vacation for a couple days. I'm still on my (shitty) sleep schedule due to my little guy's teething problem. So I've been awake for two hours. Same thing happened yesterday. I was hoping to catch up on sleep while I'm out east. Not gonna happen, I guess. |

what kind of schools do y'all send you childers too that they haven't started back yet. Three months of summer vacation was for farmers and pregnant teenage daughters. Six weeks is all the summer vacation they should get. chop, chop, chop at the tree, tree, tree. |

I work with a Southern woman and she is extremely proud of both her white and Alabaman heritage. She wears her garb everyday and is submissive towards her husband allegedly. It doesn't jive with Yankee customs and mores but she appears to be content with it. |
