We are into week 3 of school of 1st grade and the class mom's have begun raising all allergy concerns. So far we have.... Quote: Clementine does not have an allergy, however we are vegetarians. It would be helpful if we just didn't have snacks for the group that have gelatin as this is a food that we prefer not to eat. She is not vegan. Quote: Madison does not have any food allergies. She may be allergic to latex, though, so no regular band-aids, please. Quote: Olivia is allergic to Almonds. If the packaging says "May have traces of tree nuts" that is totally fine. **knowing the girls family, they caused her a stomachache once and she has been "allergic" ever since. When did allergies go from may cause death to we'd rather impose on the entire class over a personal preference. |

They still need to be taken seriously. Now, I do have a problem with the gluten nuts who think they are allergic or don't want to consume it. If these kids have issues, bring your own snacks unless airborne anaphylactic. |
