hey guys i'm still technically pretty new to this whole "man of the house" thing and i reckon many of you guys have way more experience than i do with this sort of thing, so i'd like to attempt to lean on you guys for a little 4-1-1/info/ideas of "what can i do?" in lieu of this dumbass little insect guy that popped up in my kitchen. i had grabbed a small pot out of the left end of the lower/sink cabinet* to make a can of beans on the stove and right b4 i plopped in the beans i noticed this tiny little dark-greyish slug/larvae/insect guy skittering around the pot. here's a formal/ish shot that he can use on his social media accounts if he wants: ![]() if you want more detail my phone insists on taking giant ~3000x2500+ pics so the uncropped version is here edit: holy shit i just looked back at this and there were 3-4 paragraphs after the picture here and holy shit i'm a fucking TLDR idiot way too often; let's make this nice and quick! basically this little slug/larvae-looking-motherfucker was chillin in a pot that was in one compartment of a 3 part cabinet that's got the sink in the middle and is thusly right above the floor. in the immediate area where i found him there's a bunch of oatmeal in individually sealed packets and some crackers in a proper-vintage-1950s tin. you gotta go across the underbelly of the sink a good ~5 feet to get to the other side where there's opened boxes of cereal stored along with pasta/noodles, syrup, peanut butter, etc. --- i didn't immediately find any more of these things or any evidence that that there were more in any of the 3 cabinet/sink areas so what i meant to ask y'all was if when you encounter a bug that was IN one of your food areas if you're supposed to get traps, spray, or go about your business differently cuz i figure this might be a bit different than finding an ant harmlessly crawling along your kitchen windowsill. plus this thing might be a larvae/baby-something, so idk if that means there's some proud parents chillin somewhere else in/around the kitchen that i haven't noticed and therefore i gotta put in a little work to end those freeloading mofos. thx (otra vez) # Lord Dumb of Arseinton Heights, LLC |

I bet you have no problem with the name of that new video game "No Man's Sky" either. Why does it have to be "No Man's Sky" instead of, say, "No Person's Sky" or "No People's Sky?" It's people like you who unwittingly prop up The Patriarchy(TM) every time you thoughtlessly espouse such inherently-misogynistic bullshit with no regard for who you're marginalizing/oppressing/hurting, you shitlord! Now pardon me while i'm off to petition the WWE to formally change the name of Mick Foley's longtime gimmick to "Personkind."

It's a bug. Kill it and relax. |

It was a red letter day in the retard household when I finally convinced mrs. retard to kill her own bugs rather than summon me. |

Make some baked stuffing with almonds. No one will be more the wiser. Until someone notices legs on their almonds. |

yeah yeah i know, pretty stupid thread that's likely an overreaction to a single bug.... i just wanted to cross my T's and dot my I's cuz this one technically originated from a cabinet where there's food and i didn't know if the prudent/cromulent thing to do is to go get some kind of traps/spray/etc and do something reactionary/preventative to try and make sure i don't end up with a bunch of these motherfuckers in the near/future because i was a lazy dumbass in the here and now. and of course the hypothetical tumblr-feminist strawwomyn was class personified and all, but i didn't feel like going and making a thread on how stupid this apparent outcry over how this new game "No Man's Sky" is named "No Man's Sky" is. I just decided to harp on myself for referring to the bug as a "he" because i reckon that's the core of the GIANT FUCKING ISSUE that people might have with this chauvinistic patriarchal "No Man's Sky" name. c'est la vie, no? i'm glad to report that my house still hasn't been overridden with bugs a la the classic movie "Arachnophobia" and at least for the immediate future i'm still here to vex delight annoy and uplift with my posts, you know, the way Allah willed it! |

(and yeah, like i said in the original post "i ended that fucker immediately" =) |

They are a big part of the eco system if you will. If I see a goddamn fucking cockroach anywhere that son of a fucking bitch will die a quick death. But those scum eating fucks will be the last thing alive when the whole shithouse goes up in flames. One of those fuckers will survive.Flies also. Fuck those shit eating bastards. |

Fuck those shit eating bastards. amen. i don't think i've actually ever encountered a cockroach IRL but i'd imagine that they'd receive a swift systemic death sentence right on the spot; same thing i've always assumed would happen if i ever encountered a mouse/rat in my dwelling. so far so good, but if i ever see one anywhere close to my house they're automatically "all up in my shit" since they're bigger and let's say "more determined" aka "more instantly destructive" than insects. the only thing they've got going for them is that i don't like staring death right in the face since i like to consider myself the antithesis of all that shit (i'll smoke to that =) but that's not enough to save them cuz family/self-preservation comes first. |
