They simply do not comprehend that other people are working for the money they're scooping up, and have absolutely no shame about Hoovering up as much of it as the law will allow. And maybe a little bit more than the law will allow. The Former Presidents Act provides for paying the staffers of former presidents. Bill Clinton was bilking the system out of more money than any other president before, and for more people. A cute trick they did was to spread the subsidies around among many of their staffers -- this resulted in many of them also getting government benefits. I guess if you get some minimum threshold of subsidization under the act, you then in turn are eligible for government benefits. They were using this money to pay their Permanent Traveling Political War-Room, that is to say, the staff of the Clinton Foundation.
