You work hard for the money, but what is the thorn that sticks in your side every time you get to work?

What's the toughest part about your job?

New job, so nothing is too tough...

That being said, this fucking drive from the city to EGV and back every day sucks the life out of me....especially in the evenings. I'll be so happy once they are done with Thorndale/390.

Reporting is time consuming, and at times prevents me from doing actual 'real stuff' to actually make the numbers on the reports be where I want them to be.

Clients are more silly about reporting than we are internally, so it ebbs and flows.

I'd say the toughest part about where I work is that they have us running so lean since some tough years in 2008-09 that there is really
nowhere to move up to. I'd like to become a manager and been here for 13 years but unless something changes I am not going to get
that opportunity. Word is there may be some changes afoot but I'll believe it when I see it. I really like what I do, and most of the people
I work with, so while I have thought seriously about updating the resume and looking around, it will be a tough gig to beat. Six minute drive
to work and I go home for lunch. Sometimes money isn't everything, and that is what I have been telling myself but I sure would like to
get to that next level and eligible for bonuses, etc... We've been having record years the last 5 years so that is frustrating for sure.

I feel your pain.

I know for a fact that I could make 30% more in salary at another company doing what I do (not golf stuff), but I currently get 4 weeks paid vacation in addition to four personal days and sick time. I'm the type of person who values my free time more than money. It'll be very difficult for me to leave.

Environment issues. Dirty houses, gross crawlspace, hot attics and shit like that.

Hopefully a move back to Oak Park area will cut down commute by 20-30 mins.

Being short handed and surrounded by other regional groups that candle their own workload resulting in my regional team picking up their slack, too.

The clients. Practicing law would be a great job if it wasn't for them.
