because they act like their job is so hard and so dangerous. yea, it is. but many other occupations are worse

The five most dangerous occupations remained unchanged from their 2013 ranking, while jobs involving construction, driving and repairs shifted slightly. Police officers became the 15th most dangerous job, up from 17th in 2013. But 2014’s 97 police deaths still remains below the 130 fatalities seen in 2011.
out of the ~5000 people that die every year at work, only about 100 are cops. out of ~800,000 or so!
so when i read about officers who "put on their vests, go out into the unknown everynight" i just roll my eyes... because according to this list, my job is just as dangerous as theirs, and i put on protective equipment everyday too... shit, i wear ballistic protection for my eyes! but I don't go to work thinking I am going to die that day, and I certainly don't brag about how brave I am. but maybe i should... i almost had both of my arms cut off recently.. i honestly feel lucky to still have them. but i didnt write colin kappernick a letter trying to belittle him, because trying to reach out to someone who doesn't give a fuck about me would be a waste of time
http://www.snopes.com/2016/09/02/chris- ... aepernick/seriously, dude... get over yourself. you didn't write this letter to actually get through to kappernick. you said it yourself, you don't care about him and he doesn't care about you. if this wasn't a 'me' stunt you wouldn't have released it online- it would have been sent to kappernick directly, who likely would have never read it and nobody would have ever known about it. yea, your job sucks. so does most everyones. but most people don't go out of their way to complain about it. and most people realize they can chose a different profession if they are too scared.
