just across 7th Ave from the hotel chelsea.

saw the kid from Donnie Darko and his sister drinking at an irish bar on that corner of 7th and 23rd one nye in new york. (button whatever). went to go back to that pub a year or two later, gone. ended up going to a place next to the chelsea on 23rd called Jake's "Saloon"; which is yet another high-end TGIFriday's. Watched Baron Davis and the the 8th seed Warriors close out the top-seeded Mavs and spent too much on crap food and weak drinks. waitresses were hot tho.

Busy night .... unknown number of stabbing and/or shooting victims in St. Cloud, Minny ... 2 dead, 6 injured in shooting in DC incl'g an 8-year old ... someone did a Bob Collins out in Mesa ... and the good ol' USA just bombed Syria instead of ISIS by mistake. Still, Stanford is winning 27-10 so there's that's.

for some reason that makes me think of the time that i went to hotel bar (chicago and larrabee) and i saw chris duhon there [dadgummit where is that pic i got with him? you gotta see the "fuck this guy" expression i got on his face =]

AHEM. yeah chris duhon was flanked by 3 or 4 dukie-looking-whiteboys on the night that i had a 1hr DJ set there. at one point he went and ordered 72 shots at once. that's right, an order of 72 shots of.... uhhh tequila i think? yeah they pretty much ended up going around giving away shots to any quality looking chick/s (idk if they even sussed out the possibility of them having a bf/fiancee/hubby, i just know those guys ordered 72 shots and went around trying to give them to every fine woman in the bar. go figure chris duhon was reported to have a drinking problem around the time he left chicago for the knicks, eh? =)

Also, apparently Coolio was arrested @ LAX with a loaded, stolen gun.

It's a laugh-a-minute tonight.

Maybe ISIS heard about the bombing strike ahead of time and went to the people doing the bombing and made them a better offer to bomb Syrian positions instead:

Catch22 wrote:

‘Strafe,’ said Milo.

‘Strafe?’ Alvin Brown was shocked.

‘We have no choice,’ Milo informed him resignedly. ‘It’s in the contract.’

‘Oh, okay, then,’ Alvin Brown acquiesced. ‘In that case I’ll strafe.’ This time Milo had gone too far. Bombing his own men and planes was more than even the most phlegmatic observer could stomach, and it looked like the end for him. High-ranking government officials poured in to investigate. Newspapers inveighed against Milo with glaring headlines, and Congressmen denounced the atrocity in stentorian wrath and clamored for punishment. Mothers with children in the service organized into militant groups and demanded revenge. Not one voice was raised in his defense. Decent people everywhere were affronted, and Milo was all washed up until he opened his books to the public and disclosed the tremendous profit he had made. He could reimburse the government for all the people and property he had destroyed and still have enough money left over to continue buying Egyptian cotton. Everybody, of course, owned a share. And the sweetest part of the whole deal was that there really was no need to reimburse the government at all.

‘In a democracy, the government is the people,’ Milo explained. ‘We’re people, aren’t we? So we might just as well keep the money and eliminate the middleman. Frankly, I’d like to see the government get out of war altogether and leave the whole field to private industry.

You'd think Duhon would have more game than a lame "let me buy you a drink" gambit. One thing to tell your waitress "put a round for the bar on my tab" and then continue enjoying your night. Awkward move ordering a bunch of shots and then walking around the bar like a shot girl, offering em up.

We collectively do not give a shit. Football & jon benet ramsey are on. and something happened with Hanley Ramirez. Also, Eddie Lacy has gained weight. And the dude married to the chick from Saving Silverman would like us to know he's happy about it. plus there's other stuff on TV and a semi-regularly scheduled grrl power "sherules" hash-tag trending. Bombs away.

according to reports about the video the police have, what happened with the 2nd device in new york last night:

Video shows a single man wheeling a suitcase down the street and abandoning it.

Minutes later, two dudes come across the suitcase, open it, see the crockpot inside, they take the crockpot out, leave crockpot on the ground and take the suitcase. Inadvertent heroes.

FBI should cancel AKR's direct deposit and hold his stool pigeon/patsy paycheck at the FBI office. See if he shows up to collect it.

FBI ran the bomb in the dumpster trick in Wrigleyville, but "caught" their guy planting their faux bomb in time. Fucking heroes.

No way anyone pulls off anything on Manhattan and the Feds don't know about the person ahead of time. An island with limited/controlled exit/entry points? They know everything about anyone on that island who can correctly pronounce Kabul/Qatar and knows without thinking about it which way to turn to face Mecca. FBI simply got beat to the punch by one of their October surprise plans. Bound to happen. FBI's been playing with fire with these setups--drug war tactics ported over to the war on terra--for over a decade.

Get a new playbook, G-men:

No way, not with the info and ties to ISIS this guy has. Killing him would be foolish and provide no access to that information. A street thug has no such information generally...

Did you know that two thousand years ago a Roman citizen could walk across the face of the known world free of the fear of molestation? He could walk across the earth unharmed, cloaked only in the words "Civis Romanis" - I am a Roman citizen. So great was the retribution of Rome, universally understood as certain, should any harm befall even one of its citizens. Where was Morris’s protection, or anyone else on that plane? Where is the retribution for the families and where is the warning to the rest of the world that Americans shall walk this earth unharmed, lest the clenched fist of the most mighty military force in the history of mankind comes crashing down on your house!? In other words, what the hell are we doing here?
