Anyone have any suggestions to help. I have a toliet that I cannot seem to get completely unclogged. I have tried baking soda/vinegar. I have used a plunger. I have used liquid plumber. After all of that it is a little better. It will flush and eventually all go down. But it takes awhile.

I am sure this thread will showcase some of the good and bad humor of the board, but I am desperate. Been messing with this thing for 2 days now.

Take off the toilet. Buy a new wax ring f9r when you reinstall it you might have to snake the line out. I bet someone flushed a teddy bear or a washcloth or a huuuuge turd.

Hot water. Boiling hot water.

Also put some dishwasher crystals in there and they can begin to work their way through.

Don't use boiling water. It damages the wax ring. Do what Darkside said.

It's Q-tips.

Follow Darko's advice and clean that out.

I'd rather watch your toilet slowly drain than this Bears game.

Have you tried unwinding a wired hanger & poking around there?

That's how I got out of a tough situation in high school. Might work.

your best option involves a SNAKE but I am sure the experts all knew that!!!

call me and we can talk. there are MANY options

But of course, I am just guessing as never really put anything like this in, a guy who has a handyman as a brother in law that runs around in a van and is unlicensed and unisured is probably a MUCH better source.

But once again, you should ask someone that knows.

Tree roots around your property? Completely clogged and old metal pipes. Had this happen in my master bath a year ago. Kept backing up in shower and toidy would not flush. $5000 later and re pipe lines presto problem solved. Hope this is not your situation.

Thankfully I don't think this is it. We live ina fairly new subdivision with not a lot of trees. We have a small tree in our front yard and a small tree in our backyard.

Thanks for everyone suggestions.

I may break down and call a plumber. I am not very handy at all and if I try to take the toliet off I will probably make things worse.

No you won't. It's not hard and you can even YouTube it. Even replacing the toilet yourself is likely going to be cheaper than calling a plumber.

my toilet in my new apartment blows too

literally, toilet paper will clog it

but once i plunge it, it all goes down really good.

it seems like there is something that causes paper, or shit or anything to get caught up, and it just plugs instantly

maybe the wax ring was never centered right so there is a lip for shit to get hung up on...

i dont know, but not even exaggerating... paper alone will clog it. i dont even use the fluffy kind. scott's regular all the way.

i dont want to take the toilet off, not my house... but thinking of shoving a snake down it just to see if there is a lip

It's a toilet. It really isn't difficult to do.

In my condo I had the same issue with a clogged toilet. What I found out which I didn’t know before is when buying or renting a place the builder/ owner most of time uses the cheapest materials (ie builders grade toilet). A builder’s grade toilet market price is probably around $60 and its total garbage.

I spent some cash and bought a new toilet at Home Depot for about $200 and have not had a clogged toilet for about 2.5 years now. Basically the cheap toilets are made shitty (pardon the pun) and that’s why they clog.

This is the exact model I bought:

What kind of footwear? Try wearing different shoes when using the loo; and a sport coat.

Nobody mentioned bleach? It breaks down whatever is clogging your toilet.

Pour a whole gallon and don't flush for about 4 hours, than try plunging again.

This works if someone has flushed colored clothing in your toilet and you would like it bright white when you call the plumber.
