I know Dan Bernstein thinks they are peanut-brained monsters but whatever... tell us about your pet. I like dogs better than all humans. We currently have a mut (adopted) who I'm 100% sure is a blackmouth cur. I grew up with all sorts of dogs, and he's the best I've ever had... a truly kind soul. Also, shoutout to FF's dog, who I had the pleasure of meeting a month or so ago. He's a great soul with some health problems, but FF's family is a good lot and pays for his medication. Respect. How about your pets? |

115-120 lb Bernese Mountain Dog. Awesome with the kids...loves people, too. Let's my 18 month old do whatever she wants to him and when he's had enough, he just walks away...sometimes with her holding on. Then he just lays down and huffs. Only problem is that he thinks he's a lap dog. Given the number of nut shots I've taken from him, it's a miracle I have 2 kids. |

Favorite pet was a piranha I had when I was a kid. It ate goldfish from the rear. Weirdly, the goldfish head would continue swimming around the tank like everything was cool. ![]() |

My family's dog is Shadow, a black lab. They got him 4-5 years ago when I was still in Texas. Not sure exactly where they went to get him, but I guess they were under the impression that he was fully healthy, etc. They got him in early summer and it was a particularly hot summer, and he wasn't gaining weight even though he was only 5-6 months old. One Saturday they all had a wedding to go to, and fed him in the morning and left. When they got back that evening he was laying down in the hallway and they couldn't get him to his feet. Ended up taking him to a vet and found out he was diabetic and had a missing pancreas. By that time they had already got attached to him so they decided to end up spending the $500-600 a month or whatever on medication and enzyme powder and shit for him. He appears to be as healthy as an ox now. He's a pretty damn good dog. |

Used to have birds, mostly parakeets. Hilarious, smart-ass creatures. Messy. The good ones died way too early--one by trying to squeeze through the bars to get to a female parakeet who was in quarantine. He was just starting to talk. For Halloween one year, he went (for about five seconds) as an iPod Touch. Later, in resentment, he shredded the costume, dragged it over to me, and then started jumping up and down on it. F'ing smart ass. Also had a cockatiel. I was her man. She barked whenever the missus came close. Flew out the door one day...my kids were devastated. Female cockatiels are affectionate, unlike smart-mouthed parakeets and larger parrots, so she was always with us. Only pets now are outdoor birds--we feed birds and get some cool ones, including Chicago Parakeets in the winter. Want a dog, but the kids are allergic. |

Two little guys (Bichon-Poos), one of em a stray, who bark as though they're Great Danes and an English Bulldog who we suspect is just a St. Bernard with dwarfism. Papers might have been forged on that one. My mom never met an animal in need that she didn't try and help and I guess I've inherited that trait from her. There's been countless rescues and fosters over the years who've called our place home. |

Two cats, a male tabby (named Bubba after the golfer and Forrest Gump character) and a female shorthair (named Soda as a Seinfeld reference). They think they are people and they are the best of friends. The female is fine outside of the occasional hairball, but the male not so much. When he was barely 1 he started puking almost every day and we noticed he was losing weight. Xrays and such showed nothing, so we opted for exploratory surgery. When the Doc got in there he thought he was cancer, and we were told he had 6-18 months to live. Did the biopsies (at that point, paying for those was a drop in the bucket) and it turns out he did not have cancer at all. He has some sort of gastrointestinal disease that irritates his insides, they swell, which blocks passage from his stomach to digestive tract. He gets a pill every day to combat that, but knock on wood has been ok. My wife has 2 pillows, one for her and one for Bubba as he sleeps on her head every night. 1 year old beagle mutt named Piper. She is hyper as all get out, but friendly as hell. Loves people, especially kids, and eating vegetables. She can be in a dead sleep but when I cut up cucumbers for my sandwich, she is right there begging. |

Thought they would be aggressive like this video......they ate rosies/goldfish and chewed each other fins. So I gave them to a pet store. |

2 year old yellow lab named Lily. She's actually more white than yellow in color. She's a big girl around 85 pounds. Her Dad is the biggest Lab I have ever seen and was close to 100lbs. She is super snuggly, loves to sleep on the bed with us (we have a California King so it's a non issue most nights). She loves to destroy plush toys, nylabones, and tennis balls. She loves to play but still has a lot of puppy in her so she'll jump up at people. Trying to fix that still. Oh, and if there is a mud puddle...she will find it. She also likes to rub herself in squirrel and raccoon shit....which is nice. ![]() |

Family dog is a 10 year old Italian Greyhound named Sonny (Named after Sonny from The Godfather). He's fucking awesome. He can be in the bedroom and if he hears the UPS truck it takes him a tenth of a second to come running out full blast and bark his head off. It's funny how this little guy thinks he's a pit bull. He's crazy fast too, as you would expect from a greyhound. When he plays ball he has that Mike Singletary look in his eyes which is always hilarious. ![]() The fiance and I will be getting our own dog in a few months. Going to adopt one from a shelter. |

NO PET!!! Bernstein is ocassionaly correct. If I wanted a pet I'd get a girlfriend. It's enough trouble trying to housebreak leashyourkids and Farvefan. |

We have a 3.5 year old brindle colored boxer named Hank ( named after Hank Gathers ). I'd had two other boxers that were rescues but this was my first puppy and it was a big adventure but tons of fun watching him grow so quickly. He's a great family dog but doesn't like strangers or other dogs so we need to keep a close eye on him on walks. He's 50 lbs of muscle and can be a real handful if he sees something he wants to get to. Not sure why he turned out this way but I am sure I am mostly to blame. I took him to obedience classes and even doggy day care for the first year but he kept getting sick from going so I stopped taking him. I give him a prozac each morning and that has made a big difference with his anxiety when we leave for work. I don't have any children of my own so I kind of spoil the dog and it drives my wife crazy. I like him better than her kids ![]() |

At the risk of sounding like good dolphin, how do you post a picture on here just from the gallery on your phone? |

Big Brane wrote: NO PET!!! Bernstein is ocassionaly correct. If I wanted a pet I'd get a girlfriend. It's enough trouble trying to housebreak leashyourkids and Farvefan. This is historically inaccurate. Bigfan liked dogs especially labs. We have a 90 lb Golden Retreiver named Payton. Great with kids, loves everybody, and needs companionship beyond what I thought. She is so happy and joyful that I sometimes wish I was more like her. People have stopped me in the grocery store to tell me she is beautiful and they love seeing me walk her. She's will not fetch. |
