Post subject: | Rank Chicago's Radio Shows |
I've had new work hours the past week or so, so unfortunately I've sampled more Mully and Hanley in the last week then I have the last several years. With the decline of B&B, I've heard people mention M&H being possibly the best show now. That is decidedly not true. To me, they are still significantly worse than even Spiegel and Goff, which is pretty bad. At least have Spiegel and Goff have a personality, even if it's a bad one. I can't really rank M&H higher than Mike and Mike. It's that bad. 1. Boers and Bernstein* 2. Spiegel and Goff 3. All the mid day and afternoon ESPN1000 shows, I'm assuming. Literally never listen to that station after 9 am. 4. Laurence Holmes 5. Julie DiCaro shows on Saturday with the building janitor 6. Tie for last place between M&H and Mike and Mike. *show drops 5 spots in the ranking when Rozner fills in But yeah, all these shows are awful. The medium is fucked in this town. |

1. B&B 2. N/A There is no other radio show worth listening to in Chicago. Goff + replacement level host would be my #2 but we don't have that yet. |

I think Holmes is currently the best guy on the Score by far, but that's due in part to the fact that everything else on the station is abysmal. I haven't listened to ESPN in quite a while, so I have nothing to report on that front. |

B&B is the only decent thing and more often than not, it sucks as well. Nothing on ESPN is good |

IMU wrote: 1. Waddle & Silvy I would put them at 1, with B&B at 2 (depending GREATLY on who is sitting in for B #1 on any given day). Hood and JD is my favorite pairing. Seems like they're together more when it's not football time. |

I enjoy intelligent sports discussions. Not edgy for the sake of being edgy. And I'm not sure saying dumb shit or shouting over callers should be considered edgy. |
