So are you going to be the 83 yr old dude desperately clinging to hope for Purdue to win some championship in your life time so that you can die happy?

I don't have that hope now. It's never gonna happen is my credo.

By the way. Even though I was alive for it I still need a Bears title.

Hey Brick,

if you had to bet who would win a national championship first, your crappy school in football or my crappy school (DePaul) in basketball which would you pick? And it can't be none of the above.

Purdue will never win a football national title so DePaul is the only answer.

Quote:
83 yr old Purdue fan lives long enough to celebrate Purdue Championship

The magnitude of Purdue winning the National Championship shouldn’t be measured in the years it took. We must also weigh the dedication, the passion and the resolve of the fans who have waited those years — in some cases decades, because its their pain and their faith that tells the real story.

Fans like Boilermaker Rick, a longtime Variance Explainer from New York. For most of his 83 years, Brick loved the Boilers. His passion for them was displayed to everyone in the form of endless debates about the tiniest of minutia. It’s also said the Boilers consumed many of the conversations that took place within his family get togethers, because he always hoped his Boilers would go all the way.

On Wednesday night at the Rose Bowl, it happened. The Boilers long championship drought ended with a dramatic 8-7 win over the Alabama Crimson Tide.

Three hours later, Brick died.

Don't know if I agree with the latter part of that statement, but it opens up the door for DePaul Bballs new slogan:

DePaul basketball: We've got a better shot at this than Purdue does at that!

Greatest college football game of all time.

Sloppy. But without equal.
