Screwing that connection to the wall wasn't fun. It would give you a jolt if you weren't careful.

No. We had a stereo like that when I was a kid.

We did too. Got it at Polk Brothers on Skokie Blvd just south of what was then called Evanston-Elgin Road, probably 1969. The one next door to where old man Melman had his restaurant which he named after his son Ricky.

I used to listen to blacked out Bears' home games on that thing with Jack and Kup. We didn't realize that we were supposed to have a glass coffee table when listening to Jack.
