I have considerably greater concern about Trump and Palin ... and Giulliani (I don't know how to spell his name and fuck him I ain't-a lookin' it up) ... and Christie (Chris, not Lou) ... and Carson (Ben, not Johnny) ... you know, the kind of outsiders you never heard of before that he kept telling any idiot that would listen that he was going to surround himself with. |

Whoever will be Trump's advisors cannot allow him near Putin or near a phone with Putin on the line. Putin is a goddamn menace and will run circles around Donald. |

When Trump formally becomes the Finest President Ever Elected, I fully expect all the naysayers to change their tune, drop the irrational hate, and acknowledge his greatness. |

There's a difference between negotiating and fucking over a subcontractor and an evil tyrant like Putin. Trump has no idea what's in store. |

Trump doesn't believe that. Trump is "Johnny Don'tPlay". You just can't fade him. He will slap that hand every time it comes close. Anyone who can survive the gauntlet that he had to go through to get here has immense power of will and strong character to lead. For this reason, I fully believe that he will go down as the All Time Greatest President Ever. |

Putin isnt some maniacal genius he's just ruthless and nasty. Americans still have this Cold War image of crazy Ivan that has absolutely no basis in reality. Putin kills journalists and flat out takes bribes. The Medvedev two-step couldn't have been more hamfisted if he tried. Most of his own people only like him because he does stupid things that stupid Russians have no problems relating to. He's never subtle, he's never conniving, he's just brutal and preys on the West's weakness. He cant convince absolutely incompetent, corrupt governments in Ukraine and Georgia to go along with his bullshit so he just invades like its 1850 and takes what he wants. His puppet in Syria is like the dumbest motherfucker alive and is managing to run a more ineffective war against ISIS than the country next door that will liberate Mosul by the end of the year despite not having a government. All you have to do is stand up to him and his 1970's era military and he'll back down. That's the nice thing about Putin, he's dumb but he's not dumb enough to take up a fight he knows he cant win. |

What he does you wouldn't know about. He has a unique set of skills and Trump shouldn't be arrogant enough to believe he is smarter. |

How quickly we forget... President Obama found his private moment of political candor caught by a live microphone on Monday as he told President Dmitri A. Medvedev of Russia that he would have “more flexibility” to negotiate on the delicate issue of missile defense after the November election, which Mr. Obama apparently feels confident he will win |

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=5NsrwH9I9vE My prediction is Trump meets with Putin. As Putin reaches for a goodwill gift and turns his back, Trump hits him in the back with a folding chair. Then pours a beer on him. Then WW3 starts. |

Putin is twice as smart as Trump (mainly because Trump is stupid). Also, Seacrest still won't admit he's a Trump supporter. |

Probably not the best thread for my comments that will follow, but I have been trying to figure out where Trump could do some things that fit with a right of center political philosophy. 1) Obviously the Supreme Court will be locked up for a generation. I am making the predication that the Dems will try to filibuster, and that the Senate will use the nuclear option to get rid of that obstruction tool. I'd put money on the end of the filibuster in 2017 when the Senate makes its rules for the body. if not done upfront, it will be done the first time legislation stalls. 2) No doubt corporate tax reform will be top of mind. There are two drivers that are important for businesses- 1) getting rid of the global taxation system for U.S. companies and 2) lowering the corporate rate. Moving to a territorial system will bring back all that locked up cash ad flood the U.S. markets with fresh capital. Lowering the corporate rate will also go well with keeping companies from inverting overseas and spur public company formation. The number of publicly traded companies in the U.S. has been declining for many years. 3) Agency level regulation- FDA, EPA, FTC, FCC, SEC, CFPB, NLRB, etc, etc. They will move each of these bodies to more business friendly regimes. 4) I hope and pray that we can have a Nixon going to China moment with immigration reform. The system is flat broken. I have my doubts that this will be fixed, but maybe Paul Ryan can drive the agenda and come up with a sane plan. 5) I see no way that anything regarding trade and international military commitments are going to end well. It's all too poisonous. 6) Trump absolutely has to come out in his inaugural address and then in first state of union speech and heal the wounds he created. Now more than ever, the Republicans need to stop with their hateful rhetoric. It is tearing apart the social fabric, and these Blue vs Black and constant street protests need to be addressed. I am confident 1-3 will be on the early agenda. I doubt 4 and 6 will get any traction. And 5 is probably my biggest fear and that fits into the spirit of this thread. I hope that don't lead off with health system "reform". Obamacare was the beginning of the end of Obama's political capital, and nothing serious got done after that. |
