If Cutler is done, he has to be in the conversation for number one.

Derrick Rose
Jay Williams
Eddy Curry
Mark Prior
Kerry Woods
Mike Brown

Just off the top of my head.

The sad thing is we could basically list every Bears first round pick since 2000 with only a couple exceptions.

I remember shots of him on the sidelines being counceled by a then retired Walter Payton.

Shame he never lived up to the hype.

David Greenwood. If only because we just missed out on Magic.

I'd probably put Cade and Rex ahead of Jay when it comes to Bears QB busts. Also not sure about listing Woods, Prior, Brown, and Rose; I guess you could say they were disappointing in that they could never sustain their quality but I'd still say I was more disappointed in guys who never showed much quality at all.

Yeah, they were all good but couldn't stay healthy, which to me, is just as frustrating. Mike Brown ripped my heart out. That defense was so damn good when he was healthy.

Cutler is number one. He was 25, a former Pro Bowler and he took over a team with a Super Bowl defense. Also, it took two first round draft picks and Kyle Orton to get him. I remember people selling In Cutler We Trust bumper stickers before his first season here. It took the first half of his first game to spoil that.

Have to think only Mark Prior is close to Jay.

Did people really think Rick Mirer would turn things around here?

Yeah my disappointment with Mirer pretty much peaked the second they traded for him, not when he lived down to my expectations on the field.
