I just raised mine to 71 degrees today. My wife had enough of house being in high 60s. My parents keep their house at 73. My apartment was locked into 70 degrees and we had no control over it. |

Have humidity on furnace and also run fans in almost all rooms 24/7. Always a standing floor fan in the bedroom at night. Gotta have the noise. |

I do bump it up to 70 if we are going to be gone for any length of time. House faces east/west sun hits west side at night in summer. Well insulated but if I bump it up on a hot 100 degree day it costs more than it is worth to cool back down. I need shade trees in my back yard. |

I just like that your house faces east/west and you mentioned that the sun hits the west side at night. |

65-66 during the day, sometimes my wife will put it to 67 or 68. 64 at night, though that might change tonite and tomorrow nite. 62 if we are going to be gone for longer than a couple hours. 72-73 in the summer, up to 78 when we are at work. |

Winter: 62 at night, 68 during the day Summer: 77 round the clock -- if we put the air on, which isn't often. We have a huge silver maple which shades the house pretty well. And the VERY.SMART.THERMOSTAT goes into hyper-energy saving mode when no one is home. |

ELAINE: Mrs Seinfeld, please. I am begging you. Put the air conditioner on. HELEN: You're hot? ELAINE: I've lost 6 pounds. HELEN: I don't even know how to work it. MORTY: I keep telling her it's like an oven in here. |
