I remember when I was younger getting pretty excited about New Years celebrations and partying pretty hard. Just curious
if anyone has any fun plans for Saturday evening. The small business that my wife works for bought a cottage in Door County
right on Green Bay so she reserved it for the weekend. We'll head up there and hang out, probably try to find a good supper
club in the area and watch some bowl games. Not really that exciting, but these days it is more about getting away and being
able to relax than partying.

That sounds perfect. My wife and I cannot make it up that late. There used to be a neighborhood party that rotated hosts every year, but all of us got too old. We'll probably end up doing something and leaving that something really early.

Small get together at a friends house. Beer, appetizers, cigars. MANY drinks will be had, but it will likely be pretty low key. My guess is my 12:30am we'll be ready for bed.

Wife's working so that evening I'll take the christmas decorations down, go to be early and then get up New Year's Day and run 20 miles as part of prep for the February New Orleans Marathon.

After that smoke some ribs and bid farewell to the Bears for the year.

Wife wants to go out since she's had to work the past couple years. Not sure exactly where we are going but I'm dreading the crowds already.

Every day, or did she at least get the weekends off?

Lipid, go out for dinner and then to a friends house for some drinks or you guys host. Best of both worlds.

We have reservations somewhere. It's either a surprise or I wasn't paying attention, so a mystery either way.

Girlfriend got invited to a co-worker's wedding on Saturday night. So I will be there with a bunch of people I don't know. Sunday there is some sort of open house. Monday I leave on a business trip so it is a work day for me.

You could come by my place. I will be trying my hand at a ice relief sculpture (Relief ice sculpture? Ice sculpture set in relief? NM.) of the defining events of the past year. Light Hors D'oeuvres.

Amateur night. Buncha people who get sloppy and have no idea how to drive drunk. My daughter's birthday is the day before, so we'll probably just hang out and play games or murder someone.

Entirely unclear as to why you present them as mutually exclusive activities.

I haven't done anything on New Years Eve for years. It does nothing for me anymore.

So, chug a gallon of Jameson and pass out early?

Offensive stereotyping of women as windbags is not "cool," Sam.

Doing the usual, nothing highlighted by USA vs Canada in the world juniors. Hannukah party the next morning at my parents house and then playing in annual New Years day hockey game at 2:30.

Common sense won out and we are now staying in for the festivities. Have a couple ribeyes and some shrimp ready for dinner tonight and the booze is stocked.

Doing quality control on the rum/cola/grenadine ratios right now.
