My wife and I just spent ten minutes arguing over whether Mrs. Noisewater was "Bandit" or "The Bandit".

Didn't Dr. Ken ask that question on the show?

I thought she said The Bandit.

Oh, I'm sure it's The Bandit. Another argument where I was right!

Hmmm. Now that I think about it, Dr Ken does have just a twinge of Jerry Reed in him.

Orbs.

Somebody I know was/is convinced that a recently deceased person caused it while they were filming holiday festivities.

Having listened to countless hours of Coast To Coast radio, I still thought it was one of the dumbest things I heard.

No the worst was my sister convincing my family to let her host Christmas this year. I am glad I am over 1000 miles away. From the info from my mother and the messages exchanged on Facebook it was a total clusterfuck. My sister who has MS and a son who is severely. Crippled was not able to stay for dinner because my insensitive fucks of siblings did not make the effort to accommodate the fact she can't drive after dark so she had to leave before food was served. Then the food my sister prepared was in the words of my mother "stuff I would not feed a wild dog" This sister never learned to cook ,when we where kids she never did. She once burned fucking water. My sister then tried to defend her actions. I was like um why was dinner so late. Her response. So my BF could be there. I went WTF your bf is not more I portant then your sister and her kids you dumb bitch. She then proceeded along with her fucking loser pig of a daughter to explain in a round about way that yes there needs where more important than the rest of ours. I really wish we where in Medevial times so I could as eldest male of the family choke a bitch out.

We had some issues with water coming into our basement. Basically, our entire backyard is sloped at our house, so that is why we get water. We had a retaining wall built around our patio, which has eliminated about 95% of the water problem. My wife wants to have some lights out there around the patio, which is a nice touch. But she doesn't want posts stuck into the ground. She wants to have somebody put them into the wall. I asked her how she expected to do this. She explained, very sternly, that we would have to find somebody to drill thru the wall and put the posts in that way. So this went back and forth, and basically I'm the asshole for being logical enough to know that while its not impossible to spend thousands of dollars over the course of MANY hours to drill thru solid blocks for some posts, its certainly not something we are going to do.

We never do what I want to do!

It's not very difficult to drill into concrete and fasten some anchors.

Frank,
When you purchased the property, did you notice the downward track of the backyard? That is usually a tell-tale sign of future headaches.

My brother in law has one that I've borrowed when needed. I'm too cheap/ not handy enough to justify buying good tools for myself

Nothing specific, but when I try to explain the board to my wife, I usually have a moment of clarity midway through and realize how ridiculous it sounds.

I also always use board names rather than people's real names IRL. It's kind of strange that my wife has become accustomed to me saying I'm going to meet up with a guy known only as Douchebag.

A couple of years ago, my buddy Tim and I went to John's in Winfield to meet up with Redskin Greg and Douchebag. On the way, my buddy asked, "if this guy is a douchebag, why are we meeting up with him?"

Seems to me that's a fairly common thing for MANY, particularly the ISOP.

I always thought his name was really Don until a couple months ago. Now I don't even remember what it is and don't care. He'll always be Don.

The funny thing is, most regulars would probably answer to their moniker as well as their real life name.

Back when we played basketball semi regularly, the introductions and interactions regarding board vs RL names were always funny.
