If you are against the death penalty, would you make an exception for him? |

Post subject: | Re: Dylan Roof |
the death penalty should only be considered in a case where someone wants to live, for starters... |

I wouldn't give him the death penalty because this is literally what he wanted. I would make him rot for the next 60 or 70 years. |

Seacrest wrote: If you are against the death penalty, would you make an exception for him? If you are against the death penalty, almost every case you run across is worthy of exception. The punishment always seems to be associated with inhuman actions of the guilty. It's YOUR standards that make you against the death penalty, not the standards of the guilty |

Read what he did and answer the question if it applies. Or not |

His closing statement reads like a sini post: Quote: " 'Anyone, including the prosecution, who thinks I am filled with hate has no idea what real hate is,' Roof said, speaking to jurors from a podium about eight feet from the jury box during his closing argument. 'They don't know anything about hate.' ...
" 'They don't know what real real hatred looks like,' [Roof said]. 'They think they do, but they don't really.' ... " 'I think it's safe to say that someone in their right mind wouldn't go into a church and kill people,' he said. 'You might remember in my confession to the FBI I told them I had to do it. Obviously, that isn't true because I didn't have to do it. I didn't have to do anything. But what I meant when I said that was I felt like I had to do that.' ... " 'Wouldn't it be fair to say that the prosecution hates me since they are the ones trying to give me the death penalty?' he said. 'You could say, "Of course they hate you. Everyone hates you. They have good reason to hate you." I'm not denying that. My point is that anyone who hates anything, in their mind, has a good reason.' " |

he's a useless human being. but i'm not a fan of the death penalty. there are cases like ted bundy where it was probably necessary because the guy was a danger to society and kept escaping prison...but it's usually just an archaic way of justice. he should be subjected to continuous viewings of "mama mia!" until his sentence is carried out. |

I think it's pretty poor form to try scoring points on another poster by comparing him to a condemned mass murderer, that's all. |
