We're going in 3 weeks. I told my wife we are walking from the airport to the hotel.

My company had a sales retreat there. Otw to the hotel the bus was t-boned. One sales rep left with brain date ended up in a DR hospital for 2 months etc.

We'll be in Punta Cana at the Hard Rock over Spring break. Some many recall my negative reviews in response to PittMike's queries about the DR. Giving it another shot.

That is close to the resort we stayed at I think, Bavarro Beach? Anyway, we enjoyed the area. Hope your trip goes well. Next month we are off to pretty vanilla Playa Del Carmen.

We were trying to organize a five family rental in Cozumel with the group we cruised with last Spring break. But the organizer kept messing around, and they ended up in some condo complex. That didn't appeal to us.

We're going with my in laws again. They are great fun. Drunk by noon.

They usually avoid scheduling during Spring Break. We used to wait until the season ended, but we started doing Spring Break the last few years with other families. Besides, most early April games get cancelled for wet fields.

First year of high school ball this year.

Edit, well just as I say no games, I guess they have a trip over Spring Break where they play five games. Out travel team was smart enough to avoid that.

High School seasons have limitations travel ball does not. The vast majority of schools try and schedule games on most days of spring break expecting some/most/all wont be played depending on year. Some teams are able to fund raise/pay and get of town, most just hope and pray for dry weather above 50 degrees.

Makes sense. He played summer ball with the high school team last year. They only have varisty because the school is so small, but he'll be starting for sure. He is bigger than most of the kids. At last check he was 220, 14 years old. He is also on 16U team with his club.

If your kid is 220 at 14 you or your wife must have giant brothers. You are not huge.

Mike we laugh that it was the mail man. She is taller than her dad and brothers at 5'5".

Frankie eats like a beast, always has. The doctor said he has lots of room in his growth plate, so he ain't done. He is already wearing size 14 shoes.

I am 5'8".

That's cool. My kid was bigger than me a couple years ago. I'm not one of those weird dads that has to be better or bigger than my kids.

Hah, we always want better for our kids. I'd like to see him grow a few more inches and end up in that 6-2 to 6-4 range. I can't imagine what he'll weigh once he starts lifting weights and fills out.

Went there about 5yrs ago for the honeymoon. Was in Punta Cana. No joke, taxi drivers are going like 80mph to the resort. Be Careful.

I went to Puerto Plata with my now wife when we were dating back in 2011. Its a nice town on the north side of the island. They drive like maniacs there. The cars and trucks seemed to follow at least a basic set of rules, but the scooter and moped drivers give zero fucks about anyone else. We went horseback riding and the chariot that took us there was a basic small, flatbed work truck with benches in the bed. Obviously no seatbelts and we were probably going 50mph for a while so we were fucked had we gotten into a crash.

Unfortunately for all of you, no such crash happened.

No reason he can't be trained now to help get into the habit. No heavy weights until growth plates fill out, but reps are good for tone. My oldest played his senior year football at 6'4" and 255lbs, a beast. He still lifts 5-6 days a week, it is his relaxation time from studying in grad school. He actually toned down to about 240.

I chose to prove that I could out weigh him and succeeded, but at about 40% body fat. If they are lucky, it will kill me soon.

DR roads must be like whoever ends up alive wins. Nice place. A MLB team with a future invested in a player should make them stay in the USA and hire them a fucking driver.
