My FB newsfeed is blowing up about this. Liberals are outraged. I'm too lazy to care right now. Is this a big deal or nah?

If the Democrats had spines some other Senator should have started reading it.

She was warned of what would happen if she continued with her actions. So she knew going in what would happen. As fucked up as the rule is,the Senate did the correct thing according to its rules. Once again we have the Democrats believing the rules do not apply to them.

If you want to "hear" her, you can always read The Two Income Trap. Quite informative.

No.

Republicans had a Senate rule they could use to stop a high profile Democrat.

Sure.

Sessions, and all Trump appointees, were going to be confirmed eventually. She just cements herself as a top voice on the Left.

The Senators are supposed to be able to speak on the Senate floor on any topic for as long as they are able, as Ted Cruz showed in 2016.

But I don't think it is appropriate for one Senator to be attacking another Senator on the floor, even if he is a nominee for U.S. Attorney General. Our leaders are supposed to be civil in that body, but the direction of the discourse that Warren was taking was that of a personal attack on another Senator. The person who wrote the letter is no long alive to present her view, nor is Sessions in any position to defend himself from accusations.

She could have gone directly to the press with the letter, and that would have been fine. However, she meant to shame Sessions on the floor, and that's just wrong. She should be censured.

Sounds like maybe you need a new political party if you can't find a politician on your side you like. Tulsi Gabbard would be a terrific future candidate.

Sadly, Gabbard is a bit of a windsock. She's the charlatan our black men think the Jewish man is.

I don't hate women. I only hate approved women to hate like Betsy DeVos and Ivanka Trump.

For you, Curious Hair, a video of MLK's widow thanking Jeff Sessions, blowing up Warren's letter reading stunt two days ago.

But there will be crickets tonight about this video on MSM, you can count on that.

We dislike her father. Her clothing line was dropped. Nevertheless, she persisted.

They are grandstanding, but they don't have the votes to really do more than that. What do you find so upsetting? That they are using these confirmation hearings to set up their personal political futures? I guess I can understand that, but it's not uncommon.

That's all either of them has really ever done in the Senate. It gets tiring to watch.

I think the Democrats still don't understand what happened/is happening. They're getting energy from people holding signs and wearing pussy hats, but they can't seem to grasp that there are a huge amount of people who just go to work everyday, never protest, don't complain in the streets, but they voted for Trump and he hasn't lost their support.

In fact, the Democrats fighting his cabinet choices they way they are is probably angering those people even more and likely swinging some others to Trump's side. The tradition is to allow a president great latitude in selecting his cabinet. It would have made much more sense to make a serious concerted effort to try to stop Sessions rather than taking a shot at DeVos and slowing down some of the others. But I suspect they knew that was impossible as after 20 years Sessions undoubtedly has friends on both sides of the aisle.

and Sessions has a resume that, on paper, makes him unquestionably qualified for the job, unlike so many other cabinet members
