the running thread has been lost in trump posts it seems anyway, joined a gym last fall just to run and play basketball through the winter. stuck with it too, ive been running 3-5k every other day all winter. i know i went over 5k last friday though. this one girl... god damn.. and we started the same time that day so i had to beat her of course... of course i didnt... well she interval runs, what a Caller Bob... but i tried to keep pace the whole 20min lol. my legs were hurting pretty bad through the weekend... but sunday i felt like bball so i did that for about 2 hours. that just destroyed my lower calfs... they hurt like hell. monday is my usual run day but i knew i had to skip it to recover... so i went today and man, holy crap they still hurt. the first few strides i knew i was in bad shape. i just pushed through it, ran 15min anway. gonna be a protein shake supper tonight... |

I've been playing a lot of basketball lately too. Discovered guys roughly my age have a Saturday morning league at 6 am, so I'll be playing in that. Played with them last Saturday for the first time. Holy shit, those dudes play hard. |

yea i play pickup games once and awhile... but i dont find them much fun because the guys take it pretty serious and im just a terrible shooter when guarded and i cant jump either. its ends up being me just running around a lot, and i already do that a lot during the week. i have more fun just shooting by myself. if i want to build up a sweat i play my own game... i go back behind the 3pt line, and shoot. if i miss, i run to rebound quickly and wherever i get the ball i shoot again quickly. if i miss i run to go get the ball again and shoot again. just keep doing this till i make it, then reset... go back behind the 3pt line and start again. if you do this for a half hour you will be dog tired and every muscle in your body will be worked on because every shot you take is off balance. |
