According to statistics I've heard recently there is more than half of the United States population that does not have a passport. I wonder how many of the posters here have never had a passport.

If you were looking for permission I'm more than fine with it if you leave.

I own several passports.

None of them are my own.

I have not one, but two passports. My second one comes with perks like being barred from entry in most Muslim majority countries.

Have one, but let it expire. Does that count?

Got two. A UK and US.

Gonna put them in a lockbox with a gun and some assorted cash, so I can feel like Jason Bourne.

I don't exactly recall but isn't there some issue coming up where all will need a passport to fly even domestically? Something about all states not having the same level of security in licenses? I thought this was news a year or two ago and the date was fairly soon.

Drake, can you do us all a favor and defect to North Korea? I hear it's beautiful this time of year. And I'm sure Kim Jong-Un loves random survey questions.

Illinois also spent a bunch of money redesigning our DL's only for them to fall short of federal standards for flying. I suspect they intentionally designed the DL's to be non-compliant so in a few years they could demand more money to do yet another redesign to become compliant.

Some extra layer of security nonsense. I can't remember, but it's call the Federal Real ID act or something. It was a DHS thing a few years ago.

well the old ID's look like an elementary school project, compared to the slimmer and snazzier new ones. but if they're still not compliant i'm not sure what else they need to do.

In order for states to pass the government’s security standards, they must verify every ID applicant’s identity, put anti-counterfeit technology in the production of the card and conduct background checks on those who issue driver’s licenses.

I got my new one in the mail on Friday...I was shocked at how flimsy it was...or as my wife asked, "if this is the new license, how the hell am I supposed to use it to scrape ice off my windshield?!?"

And therein lies your problem.

The SOS offices in Northern IL are full of mob lackeys and wannabes.
