What would you think if in four or five years (as Musk suggests), we had the ability to place a device inside your head that connected you to the internet and allowed you to retrieve and/or transmit information using your mind without having to use an interface like a phone or PC?

To me it's about the about scariest thing I can imagine. For every advantage, I see a downside:

1. Let's say it can prevent or minimize seizures...then it probably has the capability to cause them.
2. People could become "smarter" (or more knowledgeable) if they were hard-wired into the Cloud...but would that force others to get the implants so they wouldn't be left behind?
3. Worst of all, what if someone could read your thoughts and eventually control your mind?

There are already brain implants to fight Parkinson's or to help restore motor functions in disabled people. I would not be surprised if brain implants become common, and a way to counteract the side effects of aging at some point.

Yes, SpaceX has done some pretty incredible things for Elon Musk's ego and bank account I wont disagree with that.

Also it depends what you mean by technology. Do you mean the products and devices themselves or the industry behind it? Because to distrust the people and businesses in tech is really common sense. If you find yourself actually trusting the Elon Musk's and Uber's of the world you are succumbing to a very typically American level of gullibility.

Musk has products that have gone to market and been well received. He's also sent rockets into space and retrieved them for reuse. That's some pretty incredible work.
