What would you think if in four or five years (as Musk suggests), we had the ability to place a device inside your head that connected you to the internet and allowed you to retrieve and/or transmit information using your mind without having to use an interface like a phone or PC? To me it's about the about scariest thing I can imagine. For every advantage, I see a downside: 1. Let's say it can prevent or minimize seizures...then it probably has the capability to cause them. 2. People could become "smarter" (or more knowledgeable) if they were hard-wired into the Cloud...but would that force others to get the implants so they wouldn't be left behind? 3. Worst of all, what if someone could read your thoughts and eventually control your mind? https://www.inverse.com/article/29587-n ... -elon-musk |

Sounds like something we'll laugh at in 20 years reading the article. Eventually though something like that will be available. We just understand so little about the brain right now that it is hard to imagine us learning enough to do that any time soon. |

While the CIA may record and store our thoughts, it will only act on them if they are dangerous |

There are already brain implants to fight Parkinson's or to help restore motor functions in disabled people. I would not be surprised if brain implants become common, and a way to counteract the side effects of aging at some point. |

1980's version of Elon Musk said that in four or five years flying cars would be the norm. I'm pretty sure everything Elon Musk says is said with the goal of lining his pockets. |

You seem to hate and distrust technology. Yes, SpaceX has done some pretty incredible things for Elon Musk's ego and bank account I wont disagree with that. Also it depends what you mean by technology. Do you mean the products and devices themselves or the industry behind it? Because to distrust the people and businesses in tech is really common sense. If you find yourself actually trusting the Elon Musk's and Uber's of the world you are succumbing to a very typically American level of gullibility. |

I understand that they are corporations trying to make a lot of money, but to call him a huckster is over the top. If you want a huckster I would provide Elizabeth Holmes as an example. http://www.nbcnews.com/business/consume ... ew-n671751 Musk has products that have gone to market and been well received. He's also sent rockets into space and retrieved them for reuse. That's some pretty incredible work. |

He dreams big and often will fail big. However, his hits are quite good and have advanced a lot of things. He deserves all the acclaim especially compared to Steve Jobs who only really accomplished the marketing of Apple and himself. |
