Woke basically means enlightened but it's used almost exclusively by dbags bragging about how socially conscious they are.

What it really means is that you agree with someone's position.

If you don't agree, even for logical reasons, you aren't woke.

Woke, Gaslighting, and Mansplaining are all great words because you can separate the real journalists from the fake ones simply by seeing if they attempt to seriously use any of them in an article.

I got in a facebook argument a few weeks ago when I disagreed that Donald Trump was "gaslighting" the American people because we're not really in a relationship, per se, with Donald Trump. You can't use that word for everything.

It's impossible to take anyone seriously who is complaining about it. "You're gaslighting me" is saying "Im too mentally fragile to handle being a person". Fuck anyone who uses that term in a victim way.

I used to think Baby Boomers were the worst. Now I have evolved on than thought. Seems they had a lot of kids and now look what we have.

I can help with that one ... I didn't know it had been co-opted by deploarables though ... God knows what they might mean by it.

It goes back to a play in 1938 called, appropriately enough, Gaslight ... in which a husband tries to make his wife nuts (yarrrrrrrr) by dimming the lights (run by gas at the time) in the house (unbeknownst to her) and then basically telling her she's crazy when she asks him if the lights were dimmer than they used to be. It's a sign of an abusive relationship and a means to keep the victim 'stuck' in that relationship.

Basically you screw with someone (perhaps best labeled your 'victim'), albeit discretely rather than overtly, to the point where they start to seriously question their own mental faculties.

I believe that boomers and millennials have many of the same annoying qualities...and boy do they hate each other. As we are starting to get millennial workers on my campus, holy shit is the passive aggressiveness at an all time high between them.

Me and the other GenYs and Xers, will just ignore both, get our work done and go home.
