| Post subject: | Travel baseball parents get after it |
So we took our track team to southern Illinois for a meet tomorrow and we are sharing a floor with a travel baseball team of what appear to be 7th or 8th graders. The parents had a couple of coolers in the lobby, then a bunch of them headed over to the bar across the parking lot. Some of them are stumbling back now. |

Yeah because only travel baseball parents have coolers and drink too much. FWIW I was well behaved last night and only knocked back six beers and came home early enough to miss the Cubs losing. |

My oldest son played a little travel ball. We were probably the most popular group at every tourney- we won a grand total of one game, always had beer, and, unverified by me personally, at least two of the couples were all-out swingers! I did manage to make a complete fool of myself at a middle-school basketball tourney, when one of the other dad's brought out a fifth of bourbon, which he and I proceeded to finish. The whole motel floor heard me blowing chunks that next morning... |

I drove one of those electric carts out of a grocery store in Jacksonville IL. I had my case of beer in the front basket. The clerks all chased after me. I abandoned cart before I got to the car. That shitty downstate town deserved by assholery. |

I've generally found youth hockey parents to be better at partying as a group when on the road. |
