It seems like an odd response, given the specificity of the question.

Quote:
New York (AFP) - Hillary Clinton said Thursday that misogyny "certainly" played a role in her bruising defeat to Donald Trump in last year's US presidential election, giving her first public interview since that shock loss.

"I don't know that there is one answer," she told the Women in the World Summit in New York when asked why a majority of white women voted for a Republican who had boasted of groping women.

"Certainly misogyny played a role, I mean that just has to be admitted," added the former secretary of state, who was treated to an ecstatic welcome and standing ovation from the crowd.

She is just using the Julie tactic about how women are supposed to support one another no matter how wrong or stupid that particular woman is.

I'm not sure what you are specifically questioning but there are women that adhere to the political thoughts of their husbands as well as (generally older) women that think a president should be male.

She can delude herself all she wants. The fact is she lost the female vote. If every woman in this country voted for her she would be in the White House.

So the women that didn't vote for her are misogynists?

It's an odd response. She has nothing to gain with this. Ride off into the sunset, and enjoy the rest of your life.

I'm questioning the idea that a large enough percentage of women are misogynists that it would affect the election. That seems... unlikely, to put it nicely.

It played a role but I don't know if it was an overriding factor. She ran a bad campaign, particularly during the later stages of it and it cost her. Every poll suggested that she'd win and it led to her running the political equivalent of a prevent defense.

There were and are a large number of people that didn't vote for her because she is a woman but I don't think it is the overriding reason she lost. There are a lot of people that voted for her because she's a woman also. She probably received more votes based upon the latter.

She gets to lick Huma without having to worry about Weiner. Seems like a happy ending for all.

Sarah Silverman & Rosario Dawson supported Bernie Sanders in the primary.
Some men voted for Hillary for the sole reason that she is a woman.

Somehow running a legendarily horrible campaign has martyred her and now she gets standing O's and blathering praise from the people who should be chasing her away from the party with pitchforks. If you're a democrat why on earth would be you be cheering this woman? Especially when she continues to misread the public at large with this identity politics bullshit that only fuels the campaigns of R's.

Time to recognize Micheal Dukakis. After running then the worst campaign (surpassed by Hillary 16), at least the guy knew to shut the fuck up for the rest of his life.

This would be a lot more believable if Hillary and her people didn't spend a lot of time basically saying "You should vote for me because I'm a woman".

Of course some people didn't vote for her because she was a woman. Some people didn't vote for Trump because he was a man.

The fact is that Hillary was lucky to be matched up only with Bernie who was easily beatable.

Agreed. The logic for Trump winning the general has to be applied to the primary if it is going to have legitimacy. If Trump's win invalidates Hillary then Hillary's win has to invalidate Sanders.

If Trump's win was due to being matched up with a terrible candidate then Hillary's win would have to be the result of the same thing.
