I think Chappelle lost his fastball a little bit during his hiatus. I'd probably go with Louis CK.

Talk about a dead art. Just a bunch of substance addicted misanthropes trying to one-up each other in a vain effort to appeal to white urban liberals. The fact that these people view their work as a cultural necessity and get all sanctimonious anyone dares not find their jokes indispensable is really the only funny part of their bits.

Your takes on pop culture are consistently some of the worst shit I read on the board. Congratulations.

I surprised you said Chaplle. Maybe in 2005.

I would say Louis CK.

Who can forget Eddie Murphy RAW filling stadiums. Or the Dice Man.

No, there's a kernel of truth there. Even comedians I like, like Nick Mullen, are way too prone to this navel-gazing bullshit where they pontificate on the delicate art of getting drunk people to laugh, and he's someone who has no part of liberal sanctimony.

that's nothing new in the world of stand up comedy. it certainly isn't specific to this generation's batch of comedians.

I'm a bigfan of John Mulaney but I suppose the answer is probably Louis CK.

All time its Carlin and I wont hear differently.

To give you an idea how old I am,I liked Carlin before he became a hippie. A lot of Gay mocking in his early days.

Bill Burr. And I don't normally like yelly comedians.

Chappelle is the king but he has dropped off a bit since the return.

I liked him the first time I heard him but that yelling shit gets old,QUICK!

Jim Gaffigan & Brian Regan are clean and very funny.

My current favorites are Rocky LaPorte & Todd Barry.

I'll always have a soft spot for Jerry Seinfeld. Brian Regan and Sebastian Maniscalco are good. I haven't heard much of Chappelle's new material, but he was on top of the list for a while.

I blame Marc Maron and Lorne Michaels the most for this.

1980's Eddie Murphy is still alive. So is the poster boy for rape, Bill Cosby.

Bill Cosby's standup is and always has been awful.

And Murphy can't claim the crown if he's not willing to defend it. Hasn't performed in three decades almost.
