Or do you go in all natural and let him/her sort it out? |

I have a bag of Oreos just prior. Seriously, I brush and floss and usually try not to eat before my appointment. Kind of like taking my car to the mechanic...it's more respectful if the car isn't filthy and also imparts the message that you care about it. |

Brush, or hit it with the listerine. Don't want them annoyed/pissed off with me, we all know that feeling when someone is bringing stank breath to the convo |

Not sure why anyone would go to the dentist and not brush your teeth |

Seems like a waste of effort. Like taking medication before going to the doctor. |

For those not quite getting it ... it's done more as a courtesy to the doctor and staff than anything else. The off-chance that you might fool them into thinking you floss more than twice a year is a nice longshot bonus to play for as well ... not quite the longshot as a goofy 'Rockets win the Championship' bet, but still. |

I just had a dental appointment yesterday. At its conclusion, the hygienist told me that I have an immaculate and beautiful mouth. She was palpably excited. It was a big moment for me. |

About two weeks prior, I'll start the vinegar gargle/swish to loosen up the plaque. Day of, brush well, including the tongue/roof/sides of mouth. Earliest possible appointment, no breakfast or coffee, shower with only deodorant, no cologne. Try not to offend the folks able to cause me significant pain that day. |

I didn't learn about this until a few years ago, but a great way to help with bad breath is to scrape your tongue, especially way in the back corners. I bought one of those Dr. Tung scrapers from Amazon and it's been amazing. |
