I last flew two weeks ago out of Terminal 3. Today there are a couple of basically police Commandos out by the ticket counter. They are dressed in camouflage with a camouflage version of the city flag on it and a police patch on the back. And they have some real heavy Weaponry with them. It's something I'm used to seeing overseas but not here. Even when we had the military in the airports after September 11th they weren't carrying this type of firepower.

Also a few TSA guys in black polos that are embroidered "Explosives Expert" are rather conspicuous airside.

Something is very different today.

I'll be through there tomorrow morning, will be on the lookout.

I'm on a DC flight, so that means probably some marshall action up in first class as well.

The only thing odd I saw was a guy in a big fur coat asking some cops near K2 what time it was. In this day and age most people just look at their phones.

I didn't see anything odd today. Even walked up to the three cops at the little information table before gate K2 and asked them for the time because one of the new information signs was off by an hour.

Pretty much everywhere other than the state's the police patrol the airports and other transportation hubs carrying automatic rifles and other goodies. Or so I've heard.
