We bought a vacuum cleaner last weekend. The salesman said "Have A Blessed Day" at least 5 times while we were there including three times directly to me. Every time I couldn't help but think of Dan Bernstein and how his guidance helped me get through this brand of in your face Christianity.

I'm sure it had nothing to do with religion though...

I had a realtor that helped me sell my first condo about 10 years ago and he used this phrase all the time. It was a running joke between my
ex-wife and I for years. Surprisingly when I was in the Carolinas for almost two weeks last month I heard it only once or twice.

It's bizarre. It's almost like they wish they could say something else and instead they have to say "Good bye" all the time.

Who still uses a salesman to buy a vacuum? You either grab one off Amazon or toss it in your cart at Ikea, no?

Personal slogans(not talking about an official company sig approved by marketing that you have to use) in email signatures should be a fireable offense.

No vacuum cleaner can clean up your sins against God. Only the Holy Spirit can vacuum your transgressions away.

Well, you are the boards #1 expert on making things up.

When can I get the list of the organizations for gay people that are against gay marriage?

If you spent some time with gay people then you would find some very quickly.

It's not as easy as making shit up or playing "progressive" on a sports message board, but it will expand your horizons past your God forsaken college degree and imaginary vacuum salesman.

So angry.

But hey, playing the "I have a gay friend" card was a nice touch! Too bad it doesn't answer the question.

Some lady called me today because my client is evicting her daughter. She asked how she can pay her daughter's rent. I told her to call the management company and I'm sure they would gladly take her money, but it wasn't my decision to make. She ended the call by telling me to "have a blessed day". I wasn't offended at all. In fact, it was kind of nice to hear.

I think we all would have assumed that that's nicer than what you normally hear.

To an extent. Surprisingly though, most deadbeat tenants realize I'm just there doing my job and they save their vitriol for their landlord.
