I just found out my friend's wife of three years is leaving him for a woman. How long do I have to wait before it's cool to bust his balls on this?

Any kids? How is he taking it?

If he seems OK and no kids... I'd give him a month or so.

I would definitely start workshopping some material right away. You're gonna need to have something ready to go.

Longer than you should wait before asking if you can buy his pool table for cheap but not as long as you should wait to solicit his ex-wife for a threesome.

Next Thursday is cool as long as he's not drinking.

Gently first. In six months, be savage.

how about never. what if he is desvestated mentally. maybe some snide remark may push him over the edge. could you live with that the rest of your life?

In the end it might be easier if it was a woman than a different dude. Maybe. I dunno.

I know these stories are common, I just don't get how you don't know while dating them. You should see some signs. Like the disgust when sex is proposed and/or executed. I mean if she is gay, she really couldn't be into it. And you should be able to tell that.

Same with the gay guys that marry women. And women are said to be more perceptive.

Sounds like you should be busting the balls of the new woman

1 kid. He seems... upset. Hard to blame him

Honestly,if she had left him for a dude how long would you wait? I'm thinking you need to wait a good long time. I have friends that the answer would be never. Others would still need a cooling off period but would be good with it eventually.

I think after about a year he'll be fine with it. It's killing me that I can't tell him I find this a little funny though.

One of our other friends called this while they were engaged. His victory lap in the group chat is hilarious

Since he had a child, I'd errors on the side of caution and wait for him to joke/lash out against her first.

Or make sure the VA has a good dental plan

The kid complicates things so I'd say tread lightly. There is a touch of dark humor to use for sure. I'd have a hard time holding back with a few friends but I'd domy best to say itwith a smile after along time. I have a couple of friends that we are just brutal to each other. That being said, no way onr handles teasing about this.

The least his wife could do is give him a going-away threesome.

This is sage advice and all, but I cannot stress enough - you have to have something good ready to go. THe healing will occur, the time will present itself. You don't want to be fumbling around with "Oh, yeah? Well your old lady...." and then some fucking Lilith Fair reference or something.

Maybe it could be that movie-esque moment when he's depressed for a year, but you get him to crack a smile and it turns his life around. Or he stands up and punches you. Either/or.

My girlfriends sister dated a guy for about 5 years who ended up being gay. He was also a Sox fan who frequently made 'Cub fans are gay" jokes I'm actually looking forward to running into him again post 2016
