Post subject:  I Need the Community
To keep my 4 month old son in your prayers. If you aren't the praying type positive thoughts will work.

In less than 12 hours he will undergo open heart surgery to repair a large hole in his heart. This kid has been beating the odds since conception so I know that he is covered by His grace. They said an IUD may stop him before birth and God made a way. They said a drop in his heart rate before birth could be a problem and the Lord made a way. They said the hole in his heart was so big it could stunt his growth and he would sleep and may ultimately need medication before surgery. All this kid has done is double his birth weight and grow nearly 6 inches since birth without medication and he spends nearly half the day awake laughing and smiling.

The odds are in his favor this time but all prayers and positive thoughts will be helpful and appreciated. I don't think I've been this worried in my life but I have faith that God will make a way for him to have a successful surgery and a speedy recovery.

I think Jimmy Kimmell's baby had the same thing. His baby had a successful operation and so will your baby.

My daughter turned 9 months a week ago and everyday I'm grateful for her health. No doubt the little guy will be ok.

Good luck, it'll will go fine. My brother had a similar surgery int he mid-70s. It never prevented him from doing anything activity-wise, and as far as I know it's not supposed to affect his life expectancy. We had to take him to Children's Memorial Hospital every 3 months until he was 18 though. I'm sure it's much better now.

Nas I cannot even imagine... I don't have good thoughts (as several here can attest) and I am not a praying man, but I only wish for your son to fight through and see you on the other side of this surgery. I look forward to hearing the good news tomorrow.
