Looking to get a console for the family for Christmas, have a 7 and 4 year old. I haven't really played video games in 20 years. Thinking switch would fit best into their ages. |

Switch or PS4. PS4 does have a lot of games now that kids can get into, and some are at a cheap price point on the PS Store. |

For that age group, the Nintendo system works best. They will probably want to move into Playstation as they hit their teens, but for now Nintendo has the best games for them. Nintendo's sweet spot has always been ages 5-12. I was raised on the NES, SNES, N64, and then moved onto Sony PS1 after that. |

I would think switch. We have a PS and an xbox1 (Different grandparents, different tastes I guess) that I have a difficult time finding bunches of games for the youngest. Although as he gets older it gets better. I've considered getting them a switch but my wife might murder me if I get another game system in the house. |

I would vote for the switch too. Plenty of great games for that age range. It's also portable so they can play it on the go. |

A lot of kids are spoiled and want the latest systems, but an old Sega or NES is just about as much fun as a lot of the new systems and can be had for a lot less. People do tend to overcharge for NES games, which made the NES classic a better deal than buying a system with games. I think Sega had some kind of a remade system with a bunch of games built in. A used PS2 is actually a good system too. |

Im in the same boat, havent owned a system since sega genesis and got it narrowed down to an xbox or ps4. Prices are too close to be any deciding factor. |

Go with the Switch. Great for kids, and it's only going to continue to get more and more games. I play it mostly docked, but I know kids love mobile shit, so the portability is a big selling point. |

Definitely Switch. Perfect for those ages and they just might have the two best games of 2017. |

It says on the youtube blurb that its a first person shooter so while I enjoyed the video Im disappointed that it wont be the game we know. That said, as Doomkitten has mentioned there is something like that already that you can buy. |
