As usual in the aftermath of gun related tragedies, MANY clamoring for something to be done.

You don't like seeing men, women, and children slaughtered by gunfire. Me neither. How do we solve it?

I'm sure we can get this knocked out by close of business.

Let's make America great again.

Nope I figure let's wing it.

1. Every gun must be registered. I get the reasons against this, but you have to register your car. Register your guns too.

2. Any person caught with a gun not registered within 30 days or purchase gets 5 years in jail for first offense. 20 for second.

3. After sale modification kits are illegal. Anyone caught with one or attempting to buy or sell one gets 10 years in jail for first offense. 30 for second.

4. Any person caught with an illegal firearm gets 15 years in jail for the first offense. 40 for the second.

5. Anyone using a firearm in the commitment of a crime gets 20 years in jail for the first offense. Life for the second.

If we're serious, let's get serious.

Let's go.

"Gun runners" should get the same punishment as those who use the guns they buy for them. That would be a start.

Just like how cops are tazed during taser training, a requirement to owning any gun is you must agree to get shot by it. That would be one shot for every gun, so you have to weigh how badly you want extras.

Spread a rumor that guns cause autism using bogus science and target stupid people and/or housewives.

It worked for that dumb ass who wanted to film a jackass type bit and shot himself through a phone book with a .50 cal handgun.

He gone.

I'm very against a national gun registry as you cannot give the government a map of targets to confiscate firearms.

Once again, having firearms in the hands of the civilian population is a deterrent to tyranny. The unarmed people of Catalonia are learning that harsh lesson right now. Madrid can do whatever the fuck they want because they have all of the guns.

Also, you'll just encourage more CNC milling of 80% lowers, which as I pointed out prior, can easily be done at home. Heck, the latest version (just released) now does it for .45 pistols as well. Granted, I think rifles are more useful for the purposes of the 2nd Amendment than handguns.

This seems completely reasonable. It will never happen.

With this, gun owners must take a safety class to get a gun to make sure they know how to safely operate them. Mandatory two week waiting period for all sales as well.

Just like trucks and motorcycles, there is further scrutiny, testing, and training required for assault rifles if those are not going to be outlawed. And yes, gun runners need stricter punishment as well. Any business owner who is caught selling firearms illegally should have his business license revoked for a minimum of three years.

There is more paperwork and registration that is done if you try to adopt a rescue dog or cat from a shelter than there is to buy a gun. That makes zero sense.

They won't get their independence via peaceful measures when their leaders are locked up and talks aren't being offered by Madrid. If talks were offered by Madrid, I'd say otherwise.

There are idiotic statements being made by both sides all over the media and social media.

Those who think if we just had more legislation things like this would not happen....wrong.

Those who think nothing should be changed and just offer more thoughts and prayers...wrong.

The truth is in the middle. Yet sadly we dont have leaders who will put aside partisian politics long enough to find the appropriate middle ground

How many people in general are informed enough on current gun laws to make any suggestions? I’m sure as hell not.

In regards to 3 do you mean any modifications? I have night sights and a slightly bigger magazine release on my Glocks. Do you mean to ban modifications to rate of fire?

For 4&5 you know that based on FBI crime statistics that certain groups will end seeing more jail than others? I can already hear "criminalizing being black" and "muh oppression"

I don't know if anything satisfies gun people. MANY gun people are big time whiners.

Everything infringes on their right to bear arms. My dad can bitch for hours. Guy has double digit number of guns yet acts like the government is out to get gun owners.

perhaps they aren't today, but with many of the proposals, you can certainly see a path being drawn to that. Thus the reason we take our stand now. We do not want to even think of going down that slippery slope, thus my strong objection to a national gun registry.

For 3 I mean the conversion kits that can make semi- into a fully-automatic.

Yes I foresee the attacks from some on 4&5. Those people aren't interested in a solution and should promptly be told to fuck off.

In part:

Step 1 - Stop politicians from campaigning in large part on irrational fears.

Step 2 - Stop the fetishization of, and prayer at the shrine of the almighty gun.

Shame those who continually cry that nothing can realistically be done.

Then consider the idiocy of what we've allowed and redouble our efforts in light of the embarrassment that is our malignant, narcissist of an idiot in chief. And his enablers.
