Welp another idiot actor/reality star wants to retard progress. To think that President Carter 1st put solar panels on the White House 40 years ago, just for Bonzo's buddy to rip them off a year or two later. |

I agree 100% with JORR that no president has ever understood alternative sources of energy, trade deficits and washing machines like this strong and good president. This president has studied the issue with his typically keen eye and has made the plain-spoken, broad-shouldered decision that a move away from solar energy will move the US that much closer to energy independence and Make America Great Again. It's called leadership, people. We've been without it for so long thanks to that loser Muslim Booga Wooga Odumbo that we don't recognize it when we see it. |

Solar panels use up too much of the sun. Good move. Just like wind power is bad because annoying useless birds are dumb and can't figure out windmills. |

I applaud this because mass adoption of solar panels and batteries would decimate future power plant projects. We need to keep relying on central sources of power so a few people can stay really rich. |

Uh.... #MAGA... buy American panels We use imported parts on our great American panels. And it's only for 4 years. If you think our great American companies are going to invest in new manufacturing that will come on line just as the tariffs are gone again I think you are fooling yourself. |

tariffs are just fucking stupid on any product. If someone else produces an item at a cheaper cost than you can, then you should find another product to make. If US solar companies can't compete, then they simply don't deserve to be in business. Ditto for Whirlpool, who is the main beneficiary of the washing machine tariff. That one is going to bite as I'll have to buy one in June after we close on the new build. I'll still get the damn Samsung because it's the best one on the market. If Whirlpool can't compete with Samsung or LG, then that's too bad. Build a better product. |

By putting a tariff on them, the subsidies are basically wasted money. The point is to piss them off, not make US companies competitive. |

Last time we tried something like this they slapped a tariff on U.S. chicken being exported to China, which cost U.S. suppliers over $1 billion. And you didn’t respond to Ogie’s point on the washers. Why do we want to piss off South Korea? |

Let's not call it a tariff, but rather an indirect payment for draining the swamp, kinda like the Mexican payments on the Hindenburg like wall. $130,000 at a time. ![]() |
