| Post subject: | They don’t flush toilet paper in Brazil? |
I just checked into my hotel in Sau Paulo and I notice a sign on the back of the toilet stating “We kindly ask you not to discard toilet paper or other items in the toilet”. So I look it up on-line to make sure I’m not misinterpreting and sure as sh!t it is correct. There’s a small garbage can next to the john for disposal.  Note: for the record it’s a Marriott, not some random fleabag joint. |

They had to be advised to flush it down. I think American plumbing must be the gold standard. |

I could see that as in "don't flush unless it's a deuce", but I assume if you've taken a dump you're flushing the waste down the toilet anyway, right? |

Yeah but it is something about their systems that don't handle paper well. Someone else may be able to explain it better. |

I've been in Dubai for the past week. Lots of bidets here. Barely any need for toilet paper. |

This was how Costas got the pink eye in Sochi. No water treatment plants in the 3rd World (including Sochi) to handle TP. |

Well fuck that is the game changer right there...let the bidet do 99% of the work. In reality you probably don't even need the toiler paper. I mean, it's not like people are throwing huge turd logs in the trash can. (I hope). |
